The Dodge Durango crossover is designed specifically for the US market, so it is almost never exported to other countries. At the same time, the model has been in the third generation for ten years and during this time has undergone only one major modernization.

Now the second restyling arrived, as a result of which the car received a new appearance, a more modern interior with an advanced media center and a powerful 720-strong version of the SRT Hellcat.

The Hellcat variant will sit at the top of the line, but there will be five more variants on offer — SXT, GT, Citadel, R / T and SRT 392.

Taking orders for the Dodge Durango 2020-2021 model year starts this summer. The basic SXT configuration is priced at $ 31,300 (2.2 million rubles), and the cars will reach customers in the fall.

The «evil» modification of the Durango SRT Hellcat worth at least $ 83,500 will be available for order in the fall, and will fall into the hands of happy owners in early 2021.

New touches in appearance

The Dodge brand is traditionally associated with sports cars, and in this regard, the Durango crossover is a typical representative of the brand. Not only that, the 2020 restyling has added road aggression models.

A more sinister look of Durango was made by new headlights with narrow stripes of navigation lights, a revised grille and a modified bumper with sections of fog lights that climbed higher.

The characteristic relief of the sidewalls with powerful tides in the area of ​​the wheel arches has been preserved, while the spoiler at the top of the fifth door has grown decently in size.

Dodge Durango SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat variants differ from the initial versions in body design. They sport a wind tunnel-tested splitter integrated into the front bumper.

Plus, this Hellcat rely on a radiator grille with larger cells and a front bumper with cutouts in place of foglights. Additional vents contribute to better cooling of the crossover’s high-performance powertrain.

Buyers will be able to choose between 11 exterior colors and three decor packages (Blacktop, SRT Black, SRT Platinum). Contrasting double stripes at the center are available in five colors.

Pirelli Scorpion Zero (standard) or Pirelli P-Zero (optional) 295/45 R20 tires are mounted on 20-inch standard wheels.

Interior

In the cabin, the architecture of the front panel has changed quite seriously. The center console is now turned to the driver by 7 degrees, and the layout of the elements on it has been radically revised.

The horizontally oriented top is here used to house the media center screen, which is flanked by ventilation deflectors on the sides. The display size is 8.4 or 10.1 inches, depending on the configuration.

The Uconnect 5 system promises high performance and support for a ton of useful features. Among the declared capabilities are the connection of two phones at once, wireless integration of devices through the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces, TomTom navigation with advanced search and voice recognition.

Finishing and equipment are highly version dependent. For example, in the rich version of Citadel, the crossover has a six-seater cabin layout with two heated captain’s seats in the second row.

The front seats, covered in Nappa leather, are equipped with ventilation. Rear row passengers have an entertainment system with two 9-inch displays, HDMI connections and a Blu-ray disc player.

The set of electronic assistants in this modification is as wide as possible — it includes adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane tracking and lane departure warning, monitoring of cross-traffic when reversing.
