Dongfeng Haoji 2023.

After teasers and photos of camouflaged prototypes, Dongfeng has finally declassified the appearance of its new crossover, called Haoji.

The model will be produced under the sub-brand Aeolus (aka Fengshen), to its main competitors, some Chinese media attribute the prestigious Geely Xingyue L (in Russia will arrive under the name Monjaro) and Chery Tiggo 8 Plus/Pro (and the Cherie cross is shakedown, while Dongfeng SUV is only five-seater).

The Aeolus Haoji is based on a fresh «bogie» DSMA (Dongfeng Superior Modular Architecture), which Dongfeng presents as its own development.

But, most likely, in fact, it is an upgraded version of Stellantis’ CMP (Common Modular Platform).

Recall that Dongfeng still holds Stellantis shares, although not so long ago the Chinese sold most of them.

Aeolus Yixuan family is based directly on the CMP (sedan and hatchback), and the crossover Haoji will be the second model on the DSMA after the «four-door» Aeolus Yixuan Max, which debuted in 2021.

Features exterior design — two-storey headlamp, a massive grille with vertical wedges and glowing stripes on top (the logo is also lit), plus made in the form of a single plate taillights.

The interior has only been illuminated on sketches so far. Inside — two-spoke steering wheel, scoreboard (combined virtual «dashboard» and multimedia touchscreen) and touchscreen control «climate» (but it has physical washers).

According to preliminary data, the Aeolus Haoji will be offered with a petrol «turbo four» 1.5 from related sedan Yixuan Max.

The engine produces 190 hp and 300 Nm, at the «four-door» it is combined with seven-speed robotized gearbox with two clutches — and the same, apparently, will get a crossover.

In addition, the Haoji will have a hybrid version with an installation based on the 1.5T (without the possibility of recharging from the mains). But the drive is likely to be front-wheel drive only.

Presentation of the new Dongfeng crossover will be held later this week. Sales in China are expected to start in the second half of the year. Export plans are not reported yet.

Recently official teaser images of the new Dongfeng Fengshen Haoji 2023 crossover have appeared in the network.

A little later «spy» photographers made the first «live» pictures of the future market debutant.

The novelty is positioned by the manufacturer as a midsize model, based on advanced technologies of Dongfeng Group DSMA.

The model will be officially introduced in the second half of 2022.

The truck will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. Also in the lineup will appear a hybrid variation of the crossover.

In terms of appearance the new crossover from Dongfeng looks simple and elegant.

At the front of the car will be a powerful grille with the filling in the form of vertical slats.

Headlights will get a separate design with LED stuffing.

The bumper will be equipped with a long air intake. The teaser shows that between the headlights will be installed luminous inserts and brand logo.

Additional lighting elements will be placed in special niches on the edges of the bumper.

Stern lights look very interesting. They are equipped with dynamic steering indicators and repeat the design of the front lights.

A panoramic sunroof will be built into the grille, and its continuation will be a compact spoiler.

It is impossible to see all details of the exterior of the future Chinese novelty, as its body is covered with dense camouflage. «Shoe» the model in large light-alloy wheels with an original pattern.

Inside the car the manufacturer will place a popular today’s design with two connected screens.

The central console will get an irregular shape, which will become one of the interior’s chips.

As for the power specifications, it is expected that the model will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which generates 190 horsepower and 300 N*m of torque.

It will be paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Later on the market will be offered a hybrid version.
