A video has appeared on the web showing a beautiful winter drift performed by the Italian supercar Ferrari SF90 Stradale. The car races through the frozen salt marshes of Bonneville.

The Italian supercar manufacturer brought its latest and greatest model, the SF90 Stradale, to the salt marshes and filmed the car doing what it does best.

Of course, Ferrari used a copy of the supercar equipped with the Assetto Fiorano «package,» which further enhances the «racing spirit» of the model.

Thanks to those upgrades that are in this «package», the total curb weight of the curb weight of the car is 30 kg less thanks to titanium springs and exhaust system, as well as carbon fiber wheels.

We shall remind you that SF90 Stradale uses hybrid power plant that combines 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 and three electric motors with a total output power of 986 horsepower.

The hybrid engine develops 800 Nm of torque. As standard, the supercar can accelerate from a standing start to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and accelerate to 201 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The top speed is 339 km/h.

We’ve seen a lot of videos of the SF90 and we know it’s amazingly fast. But watching it go into controlled drifts around the Bonneville salt marshes is even more impressive.

And on top of that, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale has three electric motors. One is installed between the gasoline engine and the transmission, and two more — on the front wheels, and they have an independent control system, which allows you to implement a system to change the traction vector.

The total power of electric motors is 220 hp, and the peak output of the power plant is one thousand «horses»!

Transmission is new: instead of seven-speed «robot» with two clutches it has eight-speed.

It is more compact and lighter than the old unit, and shift time was reduced by a third (from 300 to 200 ms), but there is one surprise: the new box has no reverse gear!

Reverse is now all-electric, with only the front motors used, and the internal combustion engine is switched off at this time.

On pure electric propulsion new supercar can go forward: in front-wheel drive mode eDrive coupe can accelerate up to 135 km / h.

The 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is positioned vertically behind the seats and provides a range of up to 25 km.

The body and chassis are completely new and made of carbon fiber. The chassis bending stiffness has increased by 20% and torsional stiffness by 40%.

The engineers were able to place the main units lower than before, so the center of gravity is slightly lowered, and the cockpit is also 20 mm closer to the ground.

The front center has a radiator for cooling the electric motors and inverters, the sides have two more radiators for the combustion engine and gearbox, and there are air ducts for cooling the brakes under the compact matrix headlights.

Ferrari masters active aerodynamics: a hybrid coupe has a movable shut-off Gurney flap.

In fact, this is a section of the rear fairing, which recedes downwards, changing the direction of air flow. At 250 km/h, the downforce reaches 390 kg.

Besides purely electric mode, Ferrari SF90 Stradale has three more presets: Hybrid, Performance and the most extreme Qualify.

They differ including the logic of the hybrid system and recuperation.

The improved slip control assistant, now called eSSC (electronic Side Slip Control), also works with electric motors.

And brake control is now «by wire»: the electronics itself distributes the work between the hydraulic mechanisms and the recuperation.

The hybrid superstructure weighs 270 kg, therefore the dry weight of the coupe is impressive 1570 kg versus 1330 kg of the model F8 Tributo.

However, the new car has a considerable advantage in dynamics: acceleration to 100 km/h takes 2.5 s instead of 2.9, and acceleration to 200 km/h takes only 6.7 s instead of 7.8.

Maximum speed is the same 340 km/h. Besides, Assetto Fiorano track package is prepared for the hybrid, which reduces weight of the car by 30 kg.

It includes carbon fiber doors and aerodynamic elements, titanium springs and exhaust system, different shock absorbers, as well as special Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

The interior is also a revolution for Ferrari. There is a huge 16-inch screen for drawn instruments, separate touchpads for light control and climate control, as well as touch buttons on the steering wheel, which are equipped with haptic feedback.

A projection screen is provided, and the transmission control selector on the central tunnel is stylized as the gearshift mechanism in Ferrari cars of yesteryear.
