Two powertrain options are available for the 2022 Ford Escape. Entry-level S, SE, and SEL models come standard with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder motor combined with an eight-speed automatic.
This combination develops 181 hp and accelerates the crossover to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.
The optional for SEL version and standard for Titanium transmission consists of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a full drive.
In this configuration, the SUV will get 250 horsepower along with a portion of confidence on the highway and in maneuvers.
Since Ford Escape buyers are offered two engine options, front- or all-wheel drive, fuel consumption characteristics will not be the same.
The base model with the three-cylinder powertrain consumes an average of 7.8 l/100 km in the front-wheel-drive combined cycle.
The all-wheel drive transmission shows that the figure rises to 8.4 l/100 km. The optional engine is more voracious — spends an average of 9.0 l/100 km. It only comes with the all-wheel drive system.
