Ford has unveiled the «charged» Puma ST crossover in a fan-made version of the Gold Edition.

Ford of Europe invited fans of the brand to choose a design for a special performance of the «charged» Puma ST crossover, and just a couple of hours ago, the winner of this vote was announced, collecting almost 275,000 likes.

The Blue Oval even allowed people to choose a name for the new product — the name Puma ST Gold Edition received 59 percent of the vote.

Everyone was asked to vote on Instagram and Twitter for their preferred choice of body paint, with 56 percent choosing black.

Behind these discs are the calipers, which are covered in red paint — this color option received 74 votes, and the black tint is a loss option. 74 people voted for the lines on the body.

Fiesta ST crossovers have ST badges on the outside because most people chose that look (79 percent).

Ford fans were asked to choose the color of the stitching in the cabin and the lettering on the linings, and the Puma received more votes than the Ford Performance.

It is planned to build a fashionable subcompact crossover in limited quantities at the plant of the American automaker in the Romanian city of Craiova, and the start of sales is scheduled for the end of this year. Price details were not disclosed.

Does the 2022 Ford Puma ST offer sporty driving?

The Ford Puma ST is a pretty cute looking SUV. On paper it seems quite a lot will be for her. How does all this translate to the road?

The Puma ST is powered by the same powertrain as the hot hatchback Fiesta ST, an all-aluminum 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder that develops 197 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 2,500 to 3,500 rpm.

Although horsepower is unchanged from the Fiesta ST, the Puma ST has an additional 30 Nm of torque.

Combined with a manual transmission, the Puma ST can accelerate to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km / h.

While driving, the reviewer notes that the small SUV is not as playful as the Fiesta ST, and the exhaust is not as melodic.

Those who sell the Puma ST also benefit from the addition of the optional Quaife limited slip differential and force vector springs.

The SUV also has a bespoke swing beam rear suspension that’s 40 percent stiffer than the Fiesta ST, and also features new anti-roll bars and shock absorbers. The SUV is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
