Ford has updated the “charged” Puma ST cross: a new economical engine and an exclusive body color

Ford has updated the Puma ST crossover. At first glance, it may seem that we are facing an ordinary model, but it differs significantly from the “hot” SUV that the American brand has been selling since 2020.

To diversify the car lineup, the 2023 Ford Puma ST has been given a hybrid system based on a 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine.

This unit produces 168 horsepower at 248 N * m of maximum torque. A 1.5-liter engine with 197 hp is also available for the SUV. and 320 N * m of thrust.

Another important difference between the new model and the model that is already on the market is how power is transferred to the front wheels.

The more powerful Puma ST uses a 6-speed manual transmission, while the fresher entry-level variant boasts a Powershift box with paddle shifters.

This 7-speed dual-clutch robot allows the compact SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.

Thus, the novelty is 0.7 seconds slower than the more powerful 1.5-liter model.

Due to the fact that the new unit is hybrid, fuel consumption for every hundred kilometers is no more than 6.3 liters.

The 48V setting reduces CO2 emissions to 144g/km and peak power reaches 5750rpm.

Full torque starts at 3000 rpm. Like the more powerful variant, the novelty is equipped with active exhaust valve technology that changes the soundtrack depending on the driving mode.

Also, the ST modification received an exclusive body color Azure Blue, contrasting with a glossy black roof.

A total of 6 color options are available. The crossover comes with black side mirror caps, a grille surround and a roof spoiler as standard, while the 19-inch wheels can get a Magnetite finish.

The interior of the SUV is equipped with Ford Performance front seats, covered with synthetic leather.
