Ford Ranger 2022.

Ford has introduced a new generation of the Ranger pickup truck.
It has been 11 years since the previous generation of the model went on sale.

Today Ford has introduced to the world the new generation of the mid-size pickup truck Ranger.

Note that the previous generation of the model went on sale more than 11 years ago.

The new model is based on its own platform, which in the near future will serve as a basis for a Volkswagen Amarok pickup.

The model is planned to start assembling at the brand’s plants in Thailand and South Africa at the beginning of 2022.

Externally the new Ford Ranger differs from its predecessor by design in the style of the current generation Maverick with C-shaped LED headlights and massive grille.

In addition, the truck became a little longer — the wheelbase of the pickup was increased by 50 mm, which had a positive impact on the leg room for the rear passengers.

In addition, the truck has improved angles of approach — the front wheels were moved forward to increase the wheelbase.

In addition to this, the cargo platform was extended by the same 50 mm — now the car can easily carry almost any loads.

In addition, the body has a lot of additional fasteners for cargo and struts.

Interior of the new truck has also undergone significant changes. Now the Ford Ranger is equipped with multimedia system SYNC4 with 10.1 or 12-inch screen to choose from.

Another display acts as the instrument panel. Among other things, the car got a compact gear selector joystick, elegant driving modes selector puck and electronic parking brake.

Of course, the new Ranger has improved interior materials compared to its predecessor.

Note that the pickup turned out to be very technological — for an additional fee the car can be equipped with matrix LED headlights, additional set of all-around lighting, which can be controlled remotely by smartphone, all-around view cameras, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition to all of the above, customers will be offered two variants of the four-wheel drive system: with clutch or permanent.

The engine range of the new Ford Ranger is completely new. Instead of 2.5-liter diesel predecessor occupied by a 3-liter diesel V6, which power is not called yet.

Note that the same engine is offered for full-size Ford F-150, and there it produces 250 hp and 600 Nm of torque.

In addition, the pickup will be offered with a pair of 2-liter diesel engines and one 2.3-liter gasoline engine of EcoBoost family.

The transmission choices are a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic and a next-generation 10-speed automatic transmission.

Note that engine power and cost, launch date and the country where the new Ford Ranger will be officially offered, representatives of the brand did not disclose during the presentation.

Apparently, the list of markets is quite big, and the manufacturer has prepared different versions of the model for each of them.
