FV Frangivento Sorpasso 2021.
The Italian company FV Frangivento from Turin has unveiled the Sorpasso petrol supercar with a V10 engine and a rather eccentric design.
The novelty got its name in honor of the comedy film «Overtaking» by Dino Risi, which is completely incompatible with modern ethical ideas about the world.
FV Frangivento was founded by Italians Giorgio Pirolo and Paolo Mancini, who have a wealth of experience working for various automakers specializing in the production of exclusive cars — Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, Porsche, Zagato studio and others.
FV Frangivento’s own designs are retro-futuristic and are reminiscent of some of the creations of Luigi Colani and the Sbarro atelier.
The target audience is the wealthiest and most discerning car enthusiasts and collectors, fed up with traditional supercars and looking for something different on the market than everyone else.
Such was and remains the hybrid supercar Asfane in various variations, and now it will be accompanied by a purely petrol model Sorpasso.
Sorpasso translates from Italian as «overtaking» and is a direct reference to the film of the same name by Dino Risi.
If anyone hasn’t seen it, we recommend you hurry: in the modern world, such a movie can be easily banned and removed from all official online cinemas.
Some scenes of the film openly show racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia and dangerous driving, including intoxicated.
The plot is built around the main character named Bruno (played by Vittorio Gassman) — this is Ostap Bender in Italian, a typical trickster who involves the young «nerd» Roberto (Jean-Louis Trintignan) on a road trip in a Lancia convertible and makes him feel what it means to live a full, fulfilling life.
The film itself is not evil, bright, dynamic and funny, but, alas, it does not fit into the new ethics in any way, so when watching it you need to make allowances for time and place.
FV Frangivento Sorpasso is perfect for dizzying trips in Italy, and it is not necessary to look for a company for them — a self-learning artificial intelligence, a driver’s avatar, is integrated into the car, which will be both an assistant and an interlocutor on the road.
Sorpasso’s body is made of carbon fiber and aluminum, the curb weight of the car is about 1300 kg, many of the components for it are purchased from «the best Italian suppliers».
There are two versions of Sorpasso — the basic Stradale (in the photos) and the extreme GTXX (there are no photos of it yet) with a more aggressive aerodynamic body kit and two-tone paint.
Both versions are equipped with a V10 gasoline engine: on the Stradale version it is naturally aspirated and produces a maximum of 610 hp, on the GTXX version the motor is equipped with a supercharged drive and produces 850 hp.
The drive in both cases is complete. Sorpasso GTXX accelerates to 100 km / h in 2.9 s, to 200 km / h in 9.3 s, top speed — 345 km / h.
There is no information about the gearbox and the design of the all-wheel drive. The company also does not say who the supplier of the V10 engine is, but if we assume that this is a Lamborghini (only it has a «generally available» naturally aspirated V10 today), then the all-wheel drive system and 7-speed «robot» are probably borrowed from the Huracan model.
FV Frangivento did not announce prices for Sorpasso, but said that those who need it have already ordered the new product and will receive it at the end of July.
When buying, you can pay separately for the program of individual customization of the car, which provides for 30 days of work side by side with stylists.
Buyers of the GTXX version can use their own initials instead of Xs.
