Chinese company GAC is going to bring the new GS8 crossover to Russia.

Russia is waiting for a new flagship crossover GAC GS8 of the second generation.

Only the novelty will not reach our country until next year, the portal «Chinese cars» writes.

New generation of GAC GS8 crossover has been on sale since December of last year at home market.

After the change of generation, the parkette has received a redesigned exterior and more modern interior.

Plus GS8 changed its platform for GPMA architecture and got a hybrid modification with the original design.

The Russian representative office of GAC does not name the exact date of GS8 introduction to the Russian market.

It is specified only that this year the flagship crossover brand will not be brought to us.

In the near future GAC Motor plans to keep the actual model range in the Russian Federation and development of the dealer network. According to KA, the new Parkett may reach Russia in 2023.

GAC GS8 of the new generation is 4.98 meters long with a wheelbase of 2.92 meters.

After the change of generation it became almost 14 cm longer. In China, so far only crossovers with seven seats are on sale, while five- and six-seater modifications are announced.

The GAC GS8 with an internal combustion engine gets a 2.0-liter 252-horsepower motor combined with an eight-speed torque converter from Aisin.

The hybrid crossover is equipped with a 190-horsepower internal combustion engine with one or two electric motors, depending on the type of drive.

The total output of such a power plant grows up to 237 hp. The transmission for the hybrid is an E-CVT variator.

GAC company showed official photos of a new GS8 crossover interior.

Premiere of the car took place last month. The interior was not declassified then. As it turned out, he is able to surprise.

Changes of the interior became the most noticeable. The entire front panel has been updated.

Now there is a digital dashboard in front of the driver, and the steering wheel became more stylish. Diagonal of the head unit is bigger.

Also note that GAC tried a new way of mounting — the multimedia system is not built into the dashboard, and just glued to it — it looks fresh and premium.

Gearbox lever became less bulky, and the central tunnel increased in size.

Buyers can choose from 6- and 7-seat options.

Note that the length and wheelbase of the new GAC GS8 increased significantly.

Now they are 4,980 and 2,920 mm, which is 145 and 120 mm more than the previous parameters, respectively.

Under the hood is 2.0-liter turbo engine, capable of producing 252 hp, which works in tandem with the 8AC gearbox.

Sales of the car in China will start at the end of this year.
