The big crossover Geely HaoYue L enters the market: a new image and a Volvo engine.
Parketnik with the prefix is available in three versions and only with a seven-seat interior, while the pre-reform model still has a five-seat version.
Compared to the previous SUV prices have increased, and quite significantly.
The crossover Geely HaoYue (a kind of «hao-yue») debuted in 2020, and in 2021 it went through a restyling.
However, the big parkette has not become a hit: according to CarSalesBase, a total of 38,706 units were sold in China last year.
For comparison, the result of the Chery Tiggo 8 family for the same period there exceeded 160,000 units.
But Geely does not think to refuse its SUV: the cross was upgraded again, but much more seriously.
At the same time HaoYue of 2021 sample remains in service, well, not to confuse the cars, the fresh version is assigned a prefix as the letter L.
Such crossover was fully disclosed in November, and now the sales in the Celestial Empire have started.
The «elka» has the original front and rear: the model has a giant grille with more impressive vertical wedges, new bumpers, headlights and lights (the latter, moreover, now combines functional strip), plus replaced the luggage door.
The length of the crossover increased by 25 mm to 4860 mm, it added 10 mm in width (now 1910 mm), height — 1770 mm (-10 mm).
In addition, the wheelbase is increased by 10 mm — now it’s 2825 mm.
Inside there is a new steering wheel, door cards and selector box, in addition the air deflectors in the form of a single plate, as well as modernized the central tunnel.
Geely HaoYue L is offered exclusively with a seven-seat interior, while the pre-reform model can also be a five-seater.
Under the hood of «Elka» — gasoline «turbo four» 2.0 Drive-E from Volvo, which produces 218 hp and 325 Nm, the engine is combined with a seven-speed robotized transmission with two clutches.
As before, only front-wheel drive. It is declared that the first «hundred» HaoYue L will gain 7.9 seconds.
The crossover without a prefix is equipped with a 1.8 turbo engine (184 hp, 300 Nm) of its own design Geely, it works with a classic six-speed «automatic» or 7DCT.
Geely HaoYue L is offered in three configurations (the model year 2021 has six versions).
«In the base» there are LED headlights (headlights — matrix), 19-inch wheels (simple versions of the cross without the prefix — 18-inch), leather interior, a virtual instrument panel at 10.25 inches (pre-reform base SUV put analog instruments), a multimedia system with 12.3-inch touchscreen, climate control, rearview camera, cruise control and auto parker.
The «medium» version gets rain and light sensors, a panoramic sunroof, all-around cameras and electric tailgate.
Top HaoYue L is also heated and ventilated front seats, ambient interior lighting, adaptive «cruise», the system of auto braking, «blind spots» monitoring and road marking tracking.
You can order a tent or a 2.2-meter-long mattress for an extra fee (such is also provided for the pre-reform crossover).
The price of the Geely HaoYue L ranges from $18,300 to $21,200. A parkette without the prefix today costs $14,800 to $20,000.
In its pre-reformed form, the three-row Geely crossover is also sold outside of the Celestial Empire — it is known as the Okavango somewhere.
But the company has not announced any plans to bring this model to the Russian market.
