Geely Monjaro 2022.

Geely Monjaro 2022 is a crossover designed specifically for Russia, ready to «take» some customers even from the Volkswagen Touareg.

On the eve of the press service of Geely in Russia reported that in 2022 in our country will be officially presented a new flagship crossover with a 7-seat interior Geely Monjaro 2022.

However, do not think that this is a fundamentally new model, as in the home market it has been sold for almost a year under the name Xingyue L, and its working name for the Russians is known as the Geely KX-11 2022.

The all-new Geely Monjaro is available on the PRC market with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, which generates 220 or 240 horsepower depending on the version, with the latter version being a hybrid, with a range of over 1,000 km without refueling.

Each can be paired with a 7-band robotized transmission or a classic 8-speed automatic transmission. Power can be transmitted both to the front axle and to all four wheels.

The name of the model manufacturer refers to one of the most legendary volcanoes on the planet — Kilimanjaro, the height of which reaches 5896 meters above sea level.

According to the company, the new Geely Monjaro 2022 crossover will be just as majestic and will be placed at the top of the model lineup.

The new Geely Monjaro 2022 is designed in a family style, which the company internally describes as «a symphony of space and time.»

The car has a massive front end with a unique radiator grille, flanked by fully LED headlights. The car has chrome details on the body, giving it a premium look.

Very effectively looks the back of the crossover, where the narrow lights are united between a thin LED strip.

It is worth saying that the new model will definitely be able to take away some customers even from the Volkswagen Touareg.

The interior is designed in a minimalist style, and the biggest attention is attracted by the three fully digital displays mounted on the front panel. It is declared that the sales of the Parkett will start in the second half of 2022.

Geely has kept its promise: in 2022 there will be a new flagship crossover Monjaro in Russia.

The large Chinese SUV has the technical stuffing of Volvo, and in terms of technology and level of equipment is not inferior to Japanese, Korean and German competitors.

Previously in China, this model was known under the intrafactory designation KX-11, as well as under the market name Xingyue L.

For Russia chose the name Monjaro: the name of the brand and model is consonant with the volcano Kilimanjaro — the highest mountain in Africa (5895 m above sea level).

The original crossover debuted in April 2021 at the Shanghai International Motor Show.

The novelty is made according to the new design philosophy «Symphony of Space and Time» and the brand philosophy «Expanding Space».

The main distinguishing feature of the concept was a unique design of the radiator grille with an intricate interior pattern, as well as fully LED optics.

The length of the crossover Geely Xingyue L is 4,770 mm, and the size of the wheelbase is 2,845 millimeters.

Thus, the car is close in size to, for example, Hyundai Santa Fe and Skoda Kodiaq.

The novelty is the largest model of the brand from China, created on a modular platform CMA (Compact Modular Architecture), developed by specialists of a subsidiary brand Volvo.

Available equipment includes adaptive cruise control, all-around view cameras, automatic parking system with remote control, panoramic sunroof and front seats with electric adjustments.

In addition, the model has a virtual dashboard, a tandem of touch screens almost the entire width of the front panel, as well as an electronic «rocking» transmission selector.

During the Chinese premiere, the automaker announced another interesting function — a system of fully automated parking, working with the support of 5G networks at a distance of up to 200 meters.

The car is able to move and park independently within this zone, as well as drive up to the driver after a call. However, in Russia, the availability of such an option seems unlikely.

It is already known that on the domestic market the crossover will be offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged Volvo gasoline engine, about the output of which there is no data yet.

In China, the model is available with two variants of this engine. The base front-wheel drive variant is equipped with a 218 horsepower unit that works together with a seven-speed pre-selective «robot» with two clutches.

At the top of the range is 238-horsepower modification of the same engine that works in tandem with eight-band automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.

The first Geely Monjaro cars will appear at Chinese brand dealers in the second half of 2022. Prices and equipment will be announced closer to the start of sales.
