Genesis G70 2021: restyling of the sports sedan.
All the details about the new 2021-2022 Genesis G70 sedan have become known. The «younger» model of the luxury Korean brand in the course of restyling outwardly became similar to its larger brothers in the line — the four-door G80 and the GV80 crossover.

In parallel, the car received more advanced equipment, including advanced safety technologies.

Sales of the modernized Genesis G70 in South Korea will start in the near future, and the new model will appear in foreign markets in 2021. Prices and configurations for Russia will be announced closer to the release date of the new product.

Athletic Elegance design

Restyling brought the sport sedan a new look, consistent with the current corporate style of the brand. Its main feature is the proprietary Quad Lamps optics with thin LED strips that diverge to the sides, as if echoing the wings of the Genesis emblem.

A powerful pentagonal radiator grille adds aggression to the front, while the original Parabolic Line stamping lines provide athleticism and elegance to the sides.

In addition to the lights on the stern of the Genesis G70, the configuration of other elements has also been revised. So, the trunk lid has taken on a different shape, saying goodbye to the recess under the license plate. Instead, the stylish Genesis lettering flaunts.

The redesigned bumper sports a laconic diffuser and oval tailpipes.
As a result of restyling, the Genesis G70 model received four fresh versions of wheel disks and five new body colors (there are now 14 shades in the palette).

The range of «metallic» enamels was expanded by the colors Sedona Brown and Tasman Blue, matt — Verbier White, Melbourne Gray and Bond Silver. The latter color is designed specifically for the G70 sedan.

Interior and equipment

The main innovation in the salon is the improved media center. It displays the image on a 10.25 «widescreen display (previously there was an 8» screen).

Supported functions include connecting smartphones via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto protocols, voice recognition, online software updates, and communication with a smart home.

The list of equipment also includes advanced wireless charging (increased speed), all-round cameras, a Genesis Digital Key (uses NFC technology), an intelligent headlight control system, and a built-in video recorder.

Even the 2021 models rely on an enlarged dashboard with 3D graphics, as well as acoustic front windows (windshield and on the driver’s door), which make noise insulation better.

The set of electronic assistants of the new G70 includes advanced cruise control (takes into account navigation data), tracking of lane lines, monitoring of «blind» spots, warning of frontal collisions with detection of cyclists and oncoming vehicles when turning left, detection of threats when leaving the car.

There are almost no innovations in technology. The sedan’s engine range consists of three familiar units from its predecessor:

• Gasoline «turbo four» 2.0 liters (252 hp);

• Petrol V6 3.3 liters (370 hp);

• Diesel 2.2 liters (202 hp)

All motors are combined with an 8-speed «automatic», four-wheel drive is offered for an additional charge.
A small innovation is that the model received another Sport + driving mode, which better reveals the capabilities of the power plants.

The V-6 is also available with the Variable Exhaust Valve System, which makes the exhaust grow louder. With the optional Dynamic AWD drive installed, the sedan can drift.
