For such a category of motorists, Honda recently launched the new Civic Hatchback e:HEV in Europe.
This week, however, company representatives officially announced the launch of sales of the updated version of the sedan worldwide.
At the presentation of the new model sporty RS trim was shown, and the developers-designers of the Honda Civic Sedan e:HEV 2022 talked about using the same hybrid unit as its European counterpart.
It is worth paying attention to the power side of the novelty, which is based on the recently developed 2.0-liter gasoline engine in combination with a pair of electric motors.
As a whole, the hybrid powertrain provides the automobile with 181 hp and 315 N*m of torque.
The given power parameters are estimated by critics rather positively, as in comparison with the Civic Si the new model concedes only by 19 hp, and here the level of traction is lower by 55 N*m than in the Civic Hatchback e:HEV.
Certainly, it is necessary to note the increased gravity of the sedan because of the two installed electric motors and 72-cell lithium-ion battery.
One of the company’s significant pluses is the thermal efficiency of the internal combustion engine, which is 41%, which is almost the highest of any road-approved car.
However, the previous Civic Si visually looks more sporty than the new model, due to the lack of a six-speed manual transmission in the Civic Hatchback e:HEV.
As for the car’s design, Honda boasts new 18-inch wheels and door handles with chrome trim, as well as seats upholstered in synthetic leather with a bright red «RS» emblem.
