Honda Civic Type-R 2023. This week fresh spy photos of the future «hot» hatchback appeared in the Network, thanks to which we have an opportunity to reproduce the appearance of the novelty.

The Civic model traces its history back to 1972, when the first generation of the compact car was presented. It also became the first mass-produced Japanese car.

Today there is already eleventh generation on the conveyor belt, which was presented in April of this year in the form of a sedan, and a couple of months later showed and a hatchback.

Now the most powerful version of the hatchback is on the turn, which will get the traditional name Type-R.

Earlier test specimens in camouflage have repeatedly caught spies, and at the very beginning of this week the Japanese company has distributed photos of the future novelty, but in the same camouflage.

First of all, the hatchback will receive noticeably widened wheel arches both at front and rear.

At the front there will be a new bumper with a large air intake, and the edges will be covered with vertical air ducts or decorative inserts.

The radiator grille will become slightly larger and get a honeycomb decoration. Sills will become wider and in their lower part there will be contrasting pads all the length.

The rear bumper is also new, with a diffuser and a triple exhaust in the center. The image is completed by a massive antifender on the trunk lid and new wheel rims.

It is expected that the hot-hatch will get a 2-liter turbo petrol engine coupled with front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual.

Characteristics of the engine are still unknown, but the novelty can get a little more power compared to its predecessor, which develops 320 hp and 400 Nm in the European version.

Earlier it was considered that the new Type-R will be equipped with a hybrid unit, that’s why we don’t exclude the variant that there will be two modifications — «traditional» and with additional electric motor.

Premiere of the novelty is expected next year.

Today in Russia the Honda brand is represented only by crossovers.

The most affordable of them — CR-V, which is equipped with a non-alternative atmospheric 2.4 (186 hp) paired with a variator, the minimum cost will be 2 939 900 rubles.

A larger model Pilot is also offered with a single engine — 249-horsepower gasoline 3.0 V6, completed with a six-speed «automatic».

The basic Lifestyle version is priced at 3,849,900 rubles.
