Honda Pilot 2023.

The new Honda Pilot 2023 has been presented: the fourth generation crossover.

The full-size crossover Honda Pilot of the new (fourth generation) has premiered in the United States. Compared to its predecessor, the car has a more brutal exterior design.

The new body has a lot more flat surfaces, and draws attention to a long horizontal hood, due to which from the side the car looks athletic enough.

In front, the all-terrain vehicle received frameless grille with a coarse-meshed pattern, to which the headlights are still closely adjoin. As for the rear, there are new headlights.

They are united with a black bar with the name of the model. The cabin has remained eight seats, so the backrest still has three (most competitors have only two).

The developers report that the back seat became more comfortable — the distance to the second row has increased by 15 mm. The angle of inclination of the backrests was increased to 10 degrees (+ 4).

Free space in the legs has increased and the middle row (+ 61), and here you can install either a standard three-seat sofa or two separate chairs. The sofa on the second row can be transformed.

For example, its middle section can be folded down, turning it into a big central armrest, or completely dismantle (a niche under the trunk floor is designed for storage of the sandwich).

As for the interior’s equipment, the base model is equipped with combined instrument panel, where the screen is combined with an analog speedometer. In the center of the front panel the tablet of multimedia system protrudes.

By default, it has a diagonal of 7.0 inches, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay interfaces is implemented by wires. In more expensive versions the screen is 9.0″ already, and the connection with gadgets is already wireless.

In turn completely virtual dashboard with 10,2 inch screen is the destiny of the top configuration. The last one is flattered by the projection display.

According to the Japanese, the interior of the crossover has got higher quality trimming. From now on there are 14 cup holders, and knee airbags for driver and front passenger are already in base (there are 8 airbags in total).

It is interesting that the new Honda Pilot 2023 was larger than all previous generations. Its length is as much as 5 077 mm (+ 86 mm compared to its predecessor), and its wheelbase now is 2 891 mm (+ 71).

Width and height of the car also increased, but not so significantly — to 1,994 mm (+ 3) and 1,803 mm (+ 10), respectively. And also the car got a more rigid body and larger track.

The trunk volume behind the third row now reaches 635 liters (111). If you fold the rear seats, the capacity of the compartment can be increased up to 3,219 liters (+127).

The crossover is based on a seriously upgraded platform of the predecessor. The design of the chassis has not changed essentially: McPherson struts in front and multilever in back. The angular stiffness of the suspension was increased by 12%.

The truck is powered by 3.5-liter atmospheric V6 engine, although it is seriously revised: twin-shaft (DOHC) engines were used instead of single-shaft (SOHC).

The number of valves remained the same (24), but the heads are more compact. The changes made in the design of the engine have slightly increased its power — up to 289 hp (+ 5). Maximum torque has not changed (355 Nm), but is now available at 5,000 rpm (+ 300).

And the Japanese refused the former nine-speed automatic in favor of ten-speed. We are talking about the box, which is already used in some models of Honda / Acura.

It has a push-button remote and standard paddles for shifting gears on a steering wheel. The initial versions of the crossover have front-wheel drive, and the list of driving presets is presented by modes Mormal, Econ, Snow, Sport and Tow. An upgraded all-wheel-drive system i-VTM4 can be ordered for a surcharge.

The new Pilot will come to the U.S. factory of the brand in Alabama, where its previous generations were also produced.

Happen it in the next few days, so that at local dealers first cars should appear in December of the twenty-second. How much the fourth generation crossover will cost is still unknown, but the model will definitely become more expensive.

Now the price tag for cars with an old body starts at $38,000 (2.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
