Hyundai Grandeur 2022.

The next Hyundai Grandeur has been spied again: bold design and a reference to the «first» sedan.

In the new generation, the model can get not only hybrid, but also all-electric version.

The «traditional» variants with internal combustion engine should stay in line. The premiere will probably take place in 2022.

«Next generation of Hyundai Grandeur 7 (model number GN7) four-door has become more and more popular in its native Korea: another video is uploaded to YouTube channel LookCAR where we can see the camouflaged prototype being transported somewhere.

Recall, the model has been produced since 1986, the current generation sedan in the system since 2016 (in some markets it is Azera), a radical restyling he experienced in 2019, distinguished by, including hidden diode running lights.

And the new Grandeur will have an even bolder design, with Hyundai adding retro motifs.

Perhaps the main «chip» of the forthcoming sedan will be the headlights.

No, two tiers (on top — running lights, under them — headlights) for Hyundai passenger cars is not a gimmick any more: the new generation four-door Mistra designed for China has a similar solution.

But the Grandeur has vertical main headlight units, as the minivan Staria has. The headlights are in the form of thin strips.

Thanks to the previous spy shots, we also know, that the sedan has a huge radiator grille.

And the most «retro» is the separate windows in back pillars which obviously refer to the Grandeur of the first generation (which in turn was the licensed copy of Mitsubishi Debonair).

Paparazzi did not manage to look inside the novelty yet. However, it is clear that inside there will be large displays («dashboard» and multimedia system), in addition the sedan may lose the physical buttons, finally going to the sensors.

According to unofficial data, the next Grandeur will be larger than its predecessor — allegedly the length will reach 5 meters.

Dimensions of the actual «four-door»: length — 4990 mm, width — 1875 mm, height — 1470 mm, wheelbase — 2885 mm.

It is assumed that the new sedan will have a fully electric variant. «Traditional» versions will be kept, as well as a hybrid, but there is no information about the technology yet.

The current Hyundai Grandeur is available in Korea with a gas-powered 2.5 GDI (198 hp) and V6 3.3 GDI (290 hp), as well as with a gas-powered V6 3.0 LPi (235 hp).

The hybrid four-door has an installation based on a 2.4 MPI engine.

It was previously reported that the «seventh» Grandeur will be on sale only in 2023. But, judging by the caught cars, the model is almost ready.

That is not excluded that in a year the electric version will enter the market, but the «traditional» sedan will probably be launched already in 2022.
