We should note that Hyundai Sonata is one of the main long-livers of the company, as it is present in the model lineup of the brand for 37 years and during this time it was sold almost 10 million copies.

The reasons why the manufacturer decided to refuse producing of the new generation model are several.

The fact is that the popularity of crossovers and SUVs, that is models with high clearance continues to grow at a steady pace.

In this connection sales of cars with a traditional type of the body is rapidly falling, which does not allow justifying their production in financial terms.

In addition, the last generation Sonata was not the most successful for the Korean company and it can be called almost a failure.

In addition, the company has already said that by 2035 they intend to introduce only electric cars to the market, and the current sales of Sonata and the dividends received from them do not allow the company to fully focus funding on the preparation of a fully electric successor to the sedan.
