Concern Stellantis showed images of the first electric Jeep UV 2023 crossover.

Jeep’s first-ever all-electric SUV debuted at a Stellantis event celebrating the auto giant’s future.

CEO Carlos Tavares showed front and rear images of the unnamed small SUV, which will appear in European showrooms in early 2023, as well as another teaser of the RAM 1500 BEV truck. It will appear next year.

The news came during a live presentation in which Tavares outlined Stellantis’ plans to offer 75 different battery electric vehicles by 2030, including two more Jeep electric vehicles by 2024: a Jeep UV SUV and a family SUV.

Tavares didn’t reveal any technical or pricing details about Jeep’s new small electric car, but we can see its outline from the images.

It features massive crossover styling with wide arches, a closed grille topped with a small «e,» and a matte black hood.

The new car may be built on a modified version of the company’s e-CMP electric platform. PSA.

It is currently used in the Peugeot e208 and Opel Corsa e, both of which are only available with front-wheel drive.

The details of the Ram 1500 BEV were even more sketchy. You can notice the muscular arches in the front and rear, as well as the prominent hood bulge.

They also unveiled a unique LED illumination, different from what was shown in previous teasers.

The full-size pickup will use the Stellantis Frame platform and will go on sale in 2024.

Tavares confirmed that the 1500 BEV was not the only Ram vehicle to get electric power.

By 2025, Ram will continue to deliver all-electric models in most of its segments.

The first production Jeep electric-powered will hit the market in early 2023.

While an unnamed compact Jeep will be introduced before the end of the year, with sales of the model starting in the first quarter of 2023.

Probably, the French e-CMP platform, familiar from Peugeot e-208, will be the basis of the «battery» Jeep, though Stellantis is silent about the technology so far.

The design of Jeep’s first mass-produced electric car is in the spirit of fuel-efficient models — the novelty is similar in form factor to the updated Compass, has characteristic fender contours and a branded imitation of the radiator grille.

For the sake of streamlined design Jeep stylists hid rear door handles and reduced front air intakes, but there are no other tricks — the renders show traditional rear-view mirrors and regular wheel disks.

The headlights are interestingly realized — the optics are composite and tinted, but nothing like this Jeep has done before.

The headlights with X-shaped pattern of diodes remind the «younger» Renegade. Ground clearance is solid by crossover standards.

The Jeep brand strategy in Europe already implies full electrification, but so far there are only moderate and chargeable hybrids in the lineup.

Last year, an experimental electric Wrangler was created, but the complete refusal of the internal combustion engine on the most recognizable model is still out of the question.
