Kia Carnival 4 2021.

The new Kia Carnival 2021 minivan is presented: now it is a car of the GUV class.

In other words, they open automatically when a person with a card key is detected, which can be convenient if you return from the store with bags in hand.

In turn, the tailgate can boast a reverse function, that is, it automatically locks when the key fob is removed from the car at a certain distance.

The front part of the Kia Carnival 2021 cabin in the new body is unified with the Sorento 4 crossover, which means that the minivan has two 12.3-inch screens, one of which serves as a dashboard, and the other is given for the needs of the multimedia system.

Plus there is the same steering wheel and transmission control washer. But the architecture of the front panel of the van is still unique — with an abundance of horizontal lines.

The interior of the car can have 3 or 4 rows of seats and provides an arrangement for 7, 9 or 11 seats, and in the latter case, three passengers are accommodated in the third and fourth rows.

The richest version of the model is the variant with seven seats, on the second row of which there are separate seats with individual electric adjustments, folding footrests, heating and ventilation.

The multimedia system displays on the backs of the front seats, a separate climate control zone, as well as a central refrigerated box with a volume of 5.5 liters, which is also removable, which allows you to take it with you, for example, on a picnic, are also designed to please passengers.

Plus, on each row of the top modification, an intercom with microphones is provided. The equipment of the rich versions additionally includes a Krell audio system with twelve speakers and contour lighting for the interior.

In addition, such cars have many electronic assistants, including adaptive cruise control, as well as automatic braking and lane keeping systems.

The new KIA Carnival 2021 model received a platform from the previously mentioned Sorento. The overall length of the minivan is 5 155 mm (+ 40), width — 1 995 (+ 10), height — 1 740 mm (no changes).

The distance between the axles has increased to 3090 mm (+ 30), while the front overhang has become shorter. Depending on the configuration, the car can have 18- or 19-inch wheels.

The line of power units of the car for South Korea is represented by a 3.5-liter atmospheric «six» with a capacity of 294 hp. (355 Nm) and a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel with 202 «horses» (441 Nm).

Both motors are from the new Smartstream family, and they work in conjunction with a traditional eight-speed automatic that transmits traction to the wheels of the front axle.

In Korea, the new Kia Carnival 4 has been on sale since the summer of two thousand and twenty. The car in the basic version with a nine-seater saloon and a petrol V6 is priced at $ 26,300 (1.9 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and similar diesel versions cost from $ 27,300 (1.97 million rubles).

For a luxurious seven-seater modification, they ask for $ 32,000 (2.3 million rubles). Over time, the minivan will appear in other markets, including Russia — we are planning to start car sales in 2021, and the assembly of the model will be established at the Avtotor enterprise.

The initial version in the Comfort version will cost at least 2.6 million rubles, detailed configurations and prices will be announced later.

Earlier it was reported that the new 4th generation Kia Carnival minivan was certified in Russia, while the start of its sales in our market is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.

And now the company announced the price of the base car — it will be possible to purchase such a car for at least 2.6 million rubles.

For this money, buyers will receive a car with a 2.2-liter CRDI turbodiesel under the hood (199 hp and 440 Nm), an eight-band automatic and front-wheel drive.

The initial Comfort package includes diode head optics, 17 ″ alloy wheels, multimedia with an eight-inch screen, heated windshield and front seats, rear parking sensors, etc.

Also for Carnival will be offered an option with a 3.5-liter petrol V6 with 249 «horses» and 332 Nm of torque. It is reported that it can be refueled with AI-92 gasoline, but the full price list will be announced later.

All versions of the model have three rows of seats, and the configuration can be either seven or eight, and the third row still has 627 liters of usable volume (under the shelf).

With the backs folded down, a compartment of 2,905 liters is obtained (according to the VDA method). Recall that the manufacturer is positioning the new KIA Carnival as a «Grand Utility Vehicle» — a mixture of a minivan and a crossover.

All-wheel drive for the car is not provided, but the standard ground clearance here is a very decent 182 millimeters.

In the five months since the start of sales at home in South Korea, almost 50,000 of these machines have been sold, despite the pandemic.
