KIA Niro 2023 second-generation has started arriving at dealers in PHEV version: prices for the hybrid crossover have already been announced.

South Korean car company Kia is gradually beginning the sales of its recently released second-generation crossover KIA Niro 2023.

The novelty will be available for purchase with conventional hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrains.

The company announced today the pricing for the PHEV version of the crossover for the U.S. market, as well as its highlights in terms of technology and equipment. The car has already started arriving at local dealers.

The plug-in hybrid, as it became known, will be available in two configurations, under the names «EX» and «SX Touring».

Their prices make $35,035 and $40,785 (1.87 — 2.5 million rubles), respectively.

Recall that the manufacturer announced the prices of standard hybrid versions of the car at the end of September.

They start at $27,785 (1.73 million rubles) and can go up to $33,785 (2.1 million rubles). Fully electric variants of the car are not yet available.

Now, as for the PHEV-version of the model. Both configurations are offered with the same power plant.

It is based on a 1.6-liter gasoline «atmospheric», which itself generates 106 hp and 144 N*m of torque.

Coupled with an electric motor, performance increases to 180 hp and 265 N*m of torque. The PHEV unit is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The main hero of the whole system is a 11.1 kWh lithium-ion battery.

In fully electric mode, depending on the configuration, the car is able to drive 53 and 52 km, respectively, for the configurations «EX» and «SX Touring».

In addition, it is worth saying that acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h the car has 9.7 seconds, and a top speed of 161 km / h.

Now, what can be equipped with these options. The cheaper one gets 16-inch alloy wheels, and the «SX Touring» version gets 18-inch wheels.

The car also gets side mirrors with turn signal repeaters, chrome trim on door handles and the bottom of the bumper, a sunroof, eco leather in the cabin and more.
