Kia Telluride 2023: premiere restyling.

The Kia Telluride SUV has become a real hit in the U.S., where it sold almost 100,000 units in 2021.

The model has been offered in the States for five years, so the Koreans expectedly prepared a restyled version of the 2023 model year, introducing it along with another big crossover, the Palisade.

Both cars got serious updates to the exterior and improved interior equipment, but the «technique» all remained the same, as until now, neither engines nor transmissions on these cars did not cause any complaints.

Right now, the Kia Telluride 2023 is one of the most popular three-row SUVs in North America, and the high interest in this model many attribute to the non-trivial exterior design of the car.

It is quite brutal and not devoid of originality, which, however, the Korean designers have tried to maintain, developing new body parts as part of the restyling.

They paid their attention to the interior, sufficiently upgrading it and did not forget to take into account the feedback of Telluride owners, for example, regarding the functionality of projection screen or Wi-Fi in the multimedia.

Exterior design

The Korean Kia Telluride 2023 SUV retains the signature «nose of the tiger,» but updates the optics, which received more pronounced vertical sections.

Fog lights remained in place, but changed the size, as the car has changed the front bumper. It got a U-shaped gray insert, but the plates near the side air intakes have disappeared.

The rear overhang is also changed, along with the headlights, which remained «boomerang», but thinner and more elegant. Their visual «continuation» became the headlights, which changed horizontal orientation to vertical.

Interior

The front panel of the SUV Kia Telluride 2023 model year has acquired a more modern look by combining two displays.

Now it is a solid panel without a visor, which has already become customary. Climate control units engineers decided not to touch, as well as the massive handles on the central tunnel, but made a greater emphasis on the «stuffing» of the network.

The multimedia is updated, received Wi-Fi, the size of the projection screen is increased, USB-C connectors appeared, and there are three more shades in the leather trimming palette.

Cabin layout has not changed: 2+2+3 and 2+3+3 layouts are still available.

Technical stuff and characteristics

Under the hood of the «Korean» without changes — the only atmospheric «six» GDI working volume of 3.8 liters will continue to put out 295 hp and be equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

At the same time 2WD and 4WD drive versions are available, and in the list of options appear electronic mountain descent assistant and updated adaptive «cruise».

Much more curious change can be considered the appearance of two «extremely off-road» modifications: Telluride X-Line with increased ground clearance, reinforced rails and special towing mode; and Telluride X-Pro, which offers more «toothy» tires and a 110-volt outlet in the luggage compartment.

Release Date

Kia Telluride 2023 remains faithful only to the American market, so beyond its borders can go only with the help of «gray» dealers.

The cost of the updated version has not yet been announced, but the «first» Telluride is relatively inexpensive in the U.S. — from $33,000. Sales of the new cars should start in the summer and fall.
