Koenigsegg Gemera quadruple hypercar: the world’s first Mega-GT.

Everyone is accustomed to the fact that sports cars and supercars are usually exclusively two-seater (less often single or triple), plus they are completely unsuitable for carrying anything more than a sports bag, and there is often no place in their cabin where you can attach a smartphone …

The incredible four-seater Koenigsegg Gemera hypercar, which the Swedish manufacturer has prepared for the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, aims to solve the problem.

There are impressive characteristics, which we will talk about a little later, while inside it can comfortably accommodate up to four people, and luggage can be placed in two trunks.

As a result, we have before us the world’s first «Mega-GT» — this is how Christian von Koenigsegg, the head of the company that built it, described this model.

This is a very powerful and very fast gran turismo, on which you can go on a long trip with a company of several people, while not particularly limiting yourself in anything.

From the outside, the new Koenigsegg Gemera looks like a coupe, but the wheelbase here is almost three meters (total length is 4,975 mm, width — 1,988, height — only 1,295), while the huge doors have an unusual design and open upwards — at an angle of almost ninety degrees, providing access to the spacious four-seater saloon.

The car has narrow diode lighting technology in front and rear, panoramic compartment, large air intakes in the front bumper and on the sidewalls, a massive diffuser, a spoiler integrated into the body at the stern, carbon plumage at the bottom, cameras instead of rear-view mirrors and exhaust pipes located on sides of the engine compartment cover.

The interior design of Koenigsegg Gemera is quite simple and minimalistic — a small screen plays the role of the instrument panel, and the center console is essentially absent at all: instead of it, a huge monitor is installed from which all functions are controlled.

Bare carbon and leather are widely used in the trim, the roof has a transparent insert, and for the rear passengers there is a large screen located in a high tunnel.

There is also a three-zone climate control, a modern audio system with 11 speakers, areas for wireless charging of smartphones, built-in Internet with Wi-Fi distribution, reliable cup holders for everyone, and there are even individual reading lamps.

The total output of the entire installation was an incredible 1,700 hp. and 3,500 Nm of torque, just think about it!

Also, the design of the model uses a proprietary KDD transmission, consisting of a hydraulic clutch with a variable degree of slipping and a main gear with a constant gear ratio.

The promised acceleration time from zero to hundreds for Koenigsegg Gemer is declared at 1.9 seconds, plus the manufacturer promises a record acceleration time from zero to 400 kilometers per hour, but does not give exact figures yet.

The main ICE can run on second-generation bioethanol, Vulcanol CO₂-neutral methanol, E85 alcohol mixture and regular gasoline.

Exclusively on electric traction (electric motors are powered by an 800-volt battery of 16.6 kWh), the hypercar can stretch about 50 kilometers, but the maximum speed can reach 300 km / h.

In addition, there is a fully-controlled chassis with rear wheels turning at a small angle and thrust vector control, due to which the car is stable on a straight line, but at the same time has excellent maneuverability.

In total, only 300 copies of the Koenigsegg Gemera will be built, the price of each is expected to be about $ 1 million. When exactly deliveries of the first machines will begin, it is not specified.
