The most powerful version of the new Defender is now available for order from Russian dealers.
The Land Rover Defender V8 debuted in February and is presented with both a five-door body and a short three-door.
Under the hood is a V8 5.0 compressor gasoline engine, familiar from the expensive versions of Range Rover models and having Ford roots. It produces 525 hp. and 625 Nm.
Together with him — a recalibrated eight-speed «automatic». The driving electronics have a new Dynamic mode, and such cars also have an electronic imitation of an active rear differential, which, using the standard brakes, controls the thrust vector.
The short-wheelbase Defender V8 can accelerate to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds, the heavier long-wheelbase in 5.4 seconds, that is, 0.7 seconds faster than the version with a 400-horsepower inline-six.
The maximum speed is 240 km / h. In accordance with the new features, the chassis has been reconfigured: the elastic elements have been changed, the stabilizers have become thicker, and the brake discs are larger.
Outside, the V8 can be identified by its four exhaust pipes, blue brake calipers and original 22-inch wheels.
A three-door Land Rover Defender 90 V8 in Russia costs from 9 million 71 thousand rubles, and a five-door Defender 110 V8 — from 9 million 246 thousand rubles.
Of course, these SUVs have very rich equipment, including extended leather trim. A special version of the V8 Carpathian Edition is also available for order, the main features of which are the matte film covering the body and the black painting of the roof, hood and tailgate.
Such cars cost at least 9 million 530 thousand for a three-door and 9 million 705 thousand rubles for a five-door.
At the same time, Defender received new equipment. For example, the Pivi Pro media system can now be ordered with an 11.4-inch screen that is 60% larger than a standard 10-inch display.
There is a wireless charger for a smartphone with a built-in signal amplifier.
And the «welcome» equipment of the First Edition was replaced by the XS Edition, in which almost all the exterior decor is painted in the body color.
Such cars have advanced equipment: electric front seats, matrix headlights, a display in the rear-view mirror and much more.
Defender XS Edition with a 3.0 turbodiesel (249 hp) costs from 6 million 511 thousand rubles, and with a 3.0 gasoline turbo engine (400 hp) — from 7 million 17 thousand rubles.

A special variation of the Defender V8 Carpathian is distinguished by the exclusive Carpathian Gray shade, paired with the Narvik Black color scheme, which is painted in the roof, bonnet and tailgate.
The color scheme continues inside with Miko Suedecloth and Robustec accents.

The «short» Defender 90 is estimated at 9,071,000 rubles, the «long» Defender 100 — at 9,246,000. The special version of the Defender V8 Carpathian «starts» at 9,530,000 and 9,705,000, respectively.
Instead of the First Edition, the XS equipment was introduced for Defender 110, which costs 6,511,000 (diesel, 3.0, 249 hp) and 7,017,000 rubles (gasoline, 3.0, 400 hp).
All 2022 SUVs have three new option packages: Bright Pack, Extended Bright Pack, Extended Black.
