Lexus prepares a successor to the LFA: long hood and hurricane dynamics.

Toyota’s premium brand continues to introduce its upcoming novelties, and this time we will talk about the most interesting of them — the flagship electric supercar.

Last December, Lexus announced a whole heap of forthcoming electric novelties.

And now it publishes more pictures and videos in social networks: last week we looked at the successor of IS model and a new big crossover.

And now let’s take a closer look at the model that was in the center of a group shot of future Lexus models — the flagship electric supercar, which for now is simply called Lexus Electrified Sport Concept.

The serial version of the concept is due to appear in 2030 and will carry the most advanced technical achievements of Toyota, including a highly efficient solid-state battery, with a full charge capable of 700 kilometers of run.

It will most likely be all-wheel-drive, since the promised acceleration to 100 km/h in 2 seconds will be difficult to achieve with the mono-drive.

In conjunction with the electric powertrain, the classic proportions of the new supercar are striking.

The long hood and the cockpit, which is moved to the rear axle, as if designed for the installation in front of a multi-cylinder engine — V10 or V12, but this, of course, will not be.

By 2030, Lexus will stop offering models with internal combustion engines in key markets (the U.S., Europe and China), and by 2035 will completely switch to «electric cars.

The classic proportions of the Lexus Electrified Sport Concept are, obviously, an homage to the LFA supercar taken out of production ten years ago, with a high-revving atmospheric gasoline V10 with under 600 hp at the front.

Lexus LFA became one of the most expensive and desirable Japanese cars, the prices on the secondary market for it are prohibitive.

Now there is no such level model in the Lexus lineup, but there is a little less pretentious sports car LC of a classical design with an amtospheric 5,0-liter V8 rated at 477 hp, and, we must say, this LC sells very well.

Last year, 2,782 units were sold in the U.S. (which is the main market for Lexus), 110% more than in 2020.

Lexus Electrified Sport Concept is positioned as the ideological successor of the LFA model and even gets some «secret ingredients» from it.

In terms of dynamics it will be the fastest model of the brand in history — collectors have to wait and save their money.
