The Lexus LFA plug-in hybrid will deliver up to 937 hp. Over time, it will evolve into an all-electric supercar.
Lexus will build on the TNGA GA-L platform with a lightweight aluminum chassis and carbon fiber body, according to a new report from Japan.
According to BestCarWeb, the successor to the LFA first received a 710-horsepower four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
Over time, it will be supplemented with an electric motor, after which the output of the power plant will increase to 937 hp.
Such an electric supercar could compete with the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and the future Lamborghini Aventador hybrid successor.
Not so long ago, the electric nature of the successor to the LFA was hinted at by the former head of Lexus and the new CEO of Toyota, Koji Sato.
Japanese media reports that a new BEV vehicle is being developed. It will be launched after the announced plug-in hybrid.
The PHEV variant will supposedly appear in 2025, and the BEV in 2026.
The cost will range from 40 million to 50 million yen.
In an August 2022 interview, Koji Sato elaborated that the new Lexus supercar will be a continuation of the Electrified Sport concept car.
Up to a hundred, such a car accelerates in a low 2-second range, and without recharging it will travel about 700 km.
Another curious nuance: an electric car can get an artificial manual transmission to attract the attention of the driver.
It will be driven by a 4.0-liter V8 engine and an electric motor, the total power of which will approach the mark of 1000 horsepower and will presumably amount to 937 forces.
The premiere of the Lexus LFA hybrid is scheduled for 2025. And a year later, in 2026, a fully electric model will see the light.
The cost of the new supercar will vary from 40 to 50 million yen, or about 22.35 — 27.94 million rubles at the current rate.
Recall that in May last year, Lexus published official images of the new Lexus Electrified Sport concept car, a harbinger of a serial sports car that will replace the legendary Lexus LFA.
