The tests captured the high-performance coupe crossover Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 version of the 2024 model year.

In March of this year, the official premiere of the new generation GLC coupe crossover took place, and in the near future a top version with an index of 63 will be added to it. How will it look like?
The GLC Coupe model appeared in the German company’s model range in 2016, a year after the premiere of the regular GLC crossover, which, in turn, is the heir to the GLK.
Today, the conveyor is already the second generation of the coupe-shaped SUV, which was demonstrated in mid-March.
As in the case of its predecessor, the new crossover will receive the most powerful modification of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe, and prototypes are already being tested, periodically falling into the lens of photo spies.
The car will be made in the style of other AMG-new products of the German brand.
The AMG GLC 63 Coupe is far from your average 6.3-litre coupe, but despite its confusing name, it is a very popular model from Mercedes.
For its upcoming second iteration, it will stray further from the «63» moniker as the powerful 4.0-liter V8 found in the current version of the model will give way to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Ahead of the official release, the high-performance SUV was spotted during final testing at the Nürburgring.
There will be a new bumper with larger air intakes, new thresholds, a nameplate with the name of the model can be placed on the wing.
At the rear, the main difference from less powerful versions is the four angular exhaust pipes, and a spoiler may also appear on the trunk lid.
In addition, the crossover is depicted with discs of the original design, test samples of the future novelty have similar ones.
Significant changes will take place under the hood of the crossover: the place of the turbocharged V8 4.0 will be taken by the “turbo four” 2.0, the same replacement took place in the new generation C 63 presented last fall.
To compensate for the two-fold decrease in the number of cylinders, a hybrid system with an electric motor is called upon, the total return of which can be 671 hp. and 1020 Nm of torque.
For comparison, the characteristics of the previous generation model: 510 hp. and 700 Nm of torque.
The premiere of new items is expected in the coming months.
In addition, the German company is preparing a “charged” new generation Mercedes-AMG E 63 sedan, which will also lose the V8 engine.
For a true crossover coupe with this heavy-duty electrified powerplant, you’ll probably have to wait until next year when AMG introduces the 63rd edition of the Mercedes CLE Coupe.
It will be a new model that will replace the C-Class Coupé and E-Class Coupé. A prototype of such a car has been repeatedly seen in testing, hiding its legitimate coupe body with sleek styling.
