Nevertheless, there is some discrepancy between the concern and the tuning studio. If by default it is generally accepted that the AMG version is a more dynamic and high-tech version of the serial, then in 2020 such a scenario did not work.

Of course, in terms of power and dynamics, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe will leave behind its analogue, but in terms of manufacturability, the production coupe has gone far ahead. This is the new EABC suspension system that the Germans presented in Frankfurt that year.

In short, air bags with bypass valves and gas-oil struts with nitrogen and hydraulic fluid inside are used here. Thanks to timely signals from the sensors, the pump pumps the right amount of fluid, which is why the crossover spreads along the asphalt, like water. Plus, you do not need to use anti-roll bars, since the racks themselves regulate the roll.

The only minus of the system if the sensor observes snow, then the operation of such a suspension will be to put it mildly not very. Nevertheless, the Germans say that such a design is simpler and easier to survive the entire life of the car.

Instead, AMG drivers installed their favorite Ride Control + air suspension with active stabilizers (powered by a 48-volt generator), electronic tuning and rear wheel steering.

This is not to say that this arrangement is bad. At one time, she showed herself perfectly in the system of directional stability and maneuverability in corners. But given the price tag, it seems that the studio was too lazy to switch to new tracks or (which is unlikely) she was not allowed to do this.

Of course, this drawback more than compensates for the number of “horses” on board. The new generation received an in-line 3-liter 6-cylinder turbo engine.

The main feature of the motor is the presence of an electric compressor, which duplicates the turbocharger at low speeds. Peak unit power 435 hp at 520 Hm.

As a result, the Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe takes the first hundred already at 5.3 seconds. The Germans limited the maximum speed at around 250 km / h.

In the end, it remains to talk about the transmission. The compartment crossover received an automated box developed at AMG. Complete with 9 gear changes, torque converter and 4Matic drive with clutch front axle.

In comparison with the serial, the Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe produces a slightly turned front, enlarged wheel arches and wheels. But with a detailed comparison, it turns out that almost 90% of the body parts are different here.

Given that the body became 6 cm shorter, this could not but affect the interior. In particular, it was decided to sacrifice the legroom for passengers on the back of the couch.

If in the serial the knees did not rest against the front seat, then in AMG people with taller than 175 cm will no longer be so comfortable.
The rest is nothing new. As usual, a charged Mercedes “drew” carbon inserts, added red lines and company logos, used more premium leather brands and installed a puffy rim of the multifunction.


Competition, as always, will be felt with the BMW X6 and Audi Q8, which are also going to be updated this year.
Price tags 5.5 and 5.06 million rubles, respectively, for the base case. Top configurations “get heavier” by an average of 800 thousand rubles.
