Test prototype of the redesigned Mercedes GLA has been photographed at the Nürburgring.
A refreshed version of the model of the German brand will go on sale on the European market in mid-spring 2023.
Apparently, engineers are now working on the suspension of the crossover. We can see that the German company will not make very many external changes.
It is noticeable that the car will get a redesigned grille and new taillights.
Such a small amount of updates is due to the fact that the next generation of this model is going to be built on the MMA platform, and the current version has MFA in the basis.
It is logical that the brand will not invest a lot of money in a car that should change completely soon.
Most likely, in the photo we see a regular variant of the GLA, and not a version from AMG. This becomes clear by the horizontal stripe on the radiator grille
There is quite a bit of camouflage on the stern. This is probably how Mercedes is trying to hide the modified lighting units.
We don’t have any pictures of the crossover’s interior yet. We can assume that the latest generation of the MBUX infotainment system will appear inside.
We know that the updated A-Class got a new steering wheel, so the same can be expected in this model. The transmission is likely to remain the same.
Now the top version is GLA45. It is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 416 horsepower and 500 N*m of torque.
The GLA35 has 302 hp and 400 N*m of torque. At this point, we don’t know when the updated crossover might debut.
The current version represents the 2021 model year, so we can assume that this event will happen in 2023.
There is no information about the new generation of the car yet.
Now the German company is preparing an updated parker, it is assumed that a refreshed version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA will get to dealers on the European market in mid-spring 2023.
Work on the refreshed crossover is in full swing: previously the novelty prototype was caught in the lenses of spies during road tests.
The updated Mercedes-Benz GLA Crossover will be equipped with the former gasoline engine 163 hp 1.3 liter engine (maximum torque — 250 Nm), as well as a 2.0-liter version with 306 hp (400 Nm); they are likely to be in the soft-hybrid power plant.
A rechargeable hybrid will also remain on the list, with a combined system output of 218 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
Its battery capacity is 15.6 kW*h and it has a cruising range of about 60 km purely on electric power (calculated using the WLTP cycle).
Mercedes-Benz is now actively developing its green lineup. The brand’s first electric crossover was the EQC: it was recently reported that this model failed in the market.
The SUV is rumored to retire next May. Meanwhile, the German brand’s new battery-powered model in this class will have to wait: it will not appear until 2025.
