The Renntech tuners are big fans of modernizing Mercedes models.
Now the specialists are back with their new project. It is called Renntech S76R 2022.
Florida-based Renntech has unveiled its new project, a redesigned version of the classic Mercedes 600 SEL with W140 body.
It received the index «S76R» and was based on a car from 1992.
In fact, we have a full restomod, which has a standard appearance, but equipped with more advanced (modern) «stuffing».
Outside the modified sedan can be recognized only by exclusive 19-inch wheels Renntech with tires Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S.
The sedan is equipped with the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine in the history of the German brand.
It is based on the Mercedes M120, which is equipped with a 6.0-liter V12 from the factory.
But this was not enough for the tuners, so they installed a 7.6-liter engine with twelve cylinders.
It has titanium connecting rods and AMG camshafts. In addition, there are ported heads and titanium retainers.
The powertrain «breathes» through air chambers designed by RENNtech. The exhaust exits through stainless steel pipes
As a result, the V12 engine develops 615 horsepower and 953 N*m of torque.
Thus, the sedan accelerates to the first «hundred» in 5 seconds and its top speed is 249 km/h.
The transmission was also changed — the engineers installed an upgraded five-speed «automatic».
Also added a limited slip differential. Carbon ceramic discs with six-piston calipers in front and four-piston in back are responsible for the brakes.
Shorter coil springs were installed in the suspension.
The sedan’s exterior looks completely factory, but there are some updates.
The tuners added a unique front splitter, trunk lid spoiler and side moldings.
The car drives on forged 19-inch wheels, «shod» in Michelin tires.
The interior is very similar to the original, but there are some changes there too.
There are a lot of elements made of carbon fiber and the ceiling is covered with alcantara. New seats have been installed.
So far only one copy is built, but in the future tuners may launch their restomod with a small run.
The Renntech S76R is said to weigh 2,177kg and can accelerate from 0-60mph (96kph) in about 5.0 seconds.
Its top speed can reach 250 km/h. Additionally, the German four-door gets AMG carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers on the front axle and four-piston calipers on the rear.
This restomod built in a single copy, but experts Renntech already said they are ready to open orders for modifications. They don’t say how much it costs.
