MG Hector 2023.

Presented updated «fellow» Chevrolet Captiva: all the changes of the new generation crossover MG Hector.

Once British brand MG which now belongs to Chinese concern SAIC, the model has corrected exterior, there are also updates inside. In addition, the model became richer. But the technology is not affected by reforms.

The MG brand’s lineup includes the Hector parkette, which has been offered since 2019.

This crossover is available exclusively to Indian motorists, but is actually based on the Baojun 530 and Chevrolet Captiva, which are sold in many countries.

A couple of years ago, the parkette received a restyling, and last summer, the developer announced the upcoming premiere of a new generation of the model.

The day before there was a presentation of the new MG Hector 2023.

As well as the pre-reformed crossover, the updated MG Hector is equipped with petrol «turbo four» 1.5 capacity of 143 h.p. and 170-powerful Fiat turbodiesel Multijet II 2.0 (other brothers have no diesel). Both motors are combined with a six-speed «manual», the petrol engine can also work with a variator.

For the pre-reformed model with a 1.5-liter motor was provided 48-volt starter-generator: in the brochure devoted to restyling SUV, a hybrid add-on is absent, but the local specialized media write that Hector still kept such an option. Drive is only front in any case.

Visually, the crossover has received a number of serious changes. In front there is a massive grille, which is filled with a lot of chrome rhombuses.

Also changes have affected the headlight units, taillights, which formed a monoblock with a functional plate, and the design of the bumpers.

In addition to updating the exterior, designers also redesigned the interior of the MG Hector.

Here appeared another front panel, another version of the central tunnel, door cards and gear selector of the transmission.

However, the manufacturer calls the newest multimedia with a 14-inch touchscreen, made in the form of a tablet, the main change.

It is capable of executing over 100 voice commands.

The list of available features of the updated parkette includes digital «dashboard», adaptive cruise control, as well as a set of electronic aids that allow avoiding collisions with other cars on the road.

A 1,5-liter petrol turbo-engine or two-liter diesel engine are responsible for power abilities of the crossover.

Both installations cooperate with a manual gearbox. Thus, it is also possible to pair with the petrol unit a variator.

The leading drive in all versions is front-drive only. The price of the new MG Hector has not yet been announced by the manufacturer.

Prices of the updated MG Hector will be announced later. The restyled model was offered for at least $17,000.
