Mitsubishi Mirage 2020.

Mitsubishi Mirage 2020 is the most affordable hatchback model from Mitsubishi.
After record sales in Europe, the Japanese from Mitsubishi are updating their hit, the Mirage subcompact hatch. At the end of 2019, 39,530 units were sold, and this is not taking into account the American market, where the model beat off buyers from the Chevrolet Spark from year to year.

Restyling did not bring any global innovations, but it is still worth considering, because according to the announced plans of the brand, they intend to expand in the East, which means that it is likely that Mitsubishi Mirage will enter Russia.

Technical stuffing

The 2020 model in terms of technology will not differ much from its predecessor.

Restyling of the 6th generation will also be based on
a proprietary platform that includes:

Electric power steering;
Height-adjustable steering column;
Front stabilizer;
MacPherson strut front and rear torsion beam;
Ventilated disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear;
Front-wheel drive only;
CVT variator.

The manual transmission was excluded. Also 1.0 l is not observed. the engine that was offered earlier. Now 1.2 l. installation will be uncontested. To be fair, it accounted for 90% of sales.

In terms of performance, the atmospheric «troika» produces 78 hp. at 100 Hm, which is not so small for a 900 kg car.

The engine has received ECI-MULTI distributed injection and Auto Stop & Go system, which turns off the engine at speeds up to 13 km / h.

In terms of dynamics, nothing interesting — 11.7 seconds to «hundreds», maximum speed — 180 km / h. For that consumption — 5 liters. in mixed mode. In the city, it is 4.5 liters at all, which is an excellent result even for a sitikar.

Onboard equipment

The set of equipment at Mitsubishi Mirage makes you think about the budget price tag, or rather about its absence.

The Verve, Design and First Edition trim levels include:

Front and rear LED lights;
Front fog lights and rear brake light (also LED);
Electrically adjustable side mirrors and direction indicators;
Heated rear window;
Multifunction steering wheel with leather upholstery and audio control buttons;
«Music» for 4 points;
Multimedia with touchscreen and support for mobile interfaces;
Starting the engine from the button;
Central locking and remote key;
Air conditioning;
Power windows on each door;
Outside air temperature sensor;
Cruise control 1st generation.

Much attention has been paid to passive safety. There are almost all the attributes of a modern car: light and rain sensors, ABS, EBD, BAS, ESP, TCS, HAC, LKA, an automatic braking system in the event of a collision, active head restraints and ISOFIX child seat mountings.

But there are still only two airbags. But at least the curtains save us. Plus, in comparison with the pre-styling model, they added functionality for detecting pedestrians, lane control and the AHB system.

Body and dimensions

In terms of appearance, the changes are minimal. The hatchback was only slightly unified with the rest of the lineup, adding chrome X-shaped moldings on the front. Also, the architecture of the body kit was partially corrected, a new casting was installed and a new palette of enamels was proposed.

With the transition to LED optics, the latter received a new pattern. Interestingly, in the basic configuration, they decided to install LEDs only on the rear lights. A strange decision.

The ground clearance remained at 150 mm. Alloy wheels are still R15.

Salon

There is little change in the cabin. Only the finishing materials were revised. Imitation leather and CFRP overlays are now available to customers. The diagonal of the multimedia screen has also increased to a record 7 inches.

Then everything is modest. The multi-wheel is extremely poor, the central tunnel is represented by a small island with two cup holders, a gearshift rocker and a manual parking brake handbrake. The chairs are the most common.

As for the interior volume, the Japanese assure that the hatch is 5-seater, but given the width of the car, only two will fit with relative comfort in the back. The volume of the trunk is the same scanty — 235 liters.

Competitors

With the Mitsubishi Mirage, in terms of competition, not everything is so smooth. Yes, consumption and dimensions are at the forefront here, but in Russian realities, motorists would rather look at the same Solaris or Rio.

The latter, by the way, can also be found in a hatchback body.
And in extreme cases, they will choose the Ravon R2 — a copy of the Chevrolet Spark, which, by the way, costs 2 times cheaper than the Mitsubishi version.

Price and start date of sales

Now the updated Mirage is already available for order in Thailand, where it is actually assembled. It is not yet known whether the car will be available for Russia, we will receive more information in the fall.

Regarding the price tag, not everything is as budgetary as they say. The minimum wage starts from 1.1 million rubles at the rate of 75. The maximum configuration is now estimated at 1.22 million rubles.
