Mitsubishi Outlander4 2022.

In mid-February, the Japanese presented a new 4-generation Mitsubishi Outlander crossover. The start of sales of new items in the States is scheduled for April 2021, but in Russia such a car will not appear until 2022.

At the same time, the company has not yet decided whether it is worth supplying cars from Japan or starting sales only after organizing the release of the brand at the plant in Kaluga.

Externally, the new body of the Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 model year has become noticeably larger and more solid than its predecessor.

Although the design of the car is made in the current corporate style «Dynamic Front Shield», it has nothing in common with the car of the previous generation.

Here is a massive front end with head optics registered in the front bumper and narrow DRL stripes at the hood level.

The car has a flat roof with a small spoiler-visor, unusual stampings on the sidewalls, the shape of the windows in the rear pillars has completely changed, as well as the design of the stern with original narrow horizontal lamps.

The maximum available rim diameter is 20 inches, the range of available shades includes eight colors.

The interior of the new Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 has also been completely transformed, with the company emphasizing the use of higher quality materials in the decoration.

The front panel draws attention to the horizontal section with integrated air ducts, a flatbed 9.0-inch screen of the multimedia system with analog rotors and a traditional climate control unit.

On North American spec cars, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a third row of seats by default, although in other markets it will likely be offered as an option.

At the same time, the middle row comes with a longitudinal adjustment and a division of the backrest in a ratio of 40:20:40.

Plus, overseas, side airbags and a central airbag between the front seats are already provided in the base, designed to protect the driver and front passenger from hitting each other.

The off-road vehicle is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance CMF-C / D platform with a multi-link rear suspension and a similar body structure with a high proportion of ultra-high-strength steels.

The overall length of the Mitsubishi Outlander 4 in the new body is 4,709 mm, the wheelbase is 2,705, the width is 1,862, the height is 1,748.

Due to the increased dimensions at the feet of the front and rear passengers, it was possible to carve out an increase of an average of 2.5 cm.

Under the hood there is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 184 hp. (245 Nm), which is paired with a Jatco CVT with eight virtual gears.

The drive can be front, or full — with a clutch on the rear axle. Although the latter has the brand name S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control), in fact, the whole car is technically unified with the previously presented Nissan Rouge 3 (under this name the X-Trail is sold in the States).

It is reported that engineers from Mitsubishi nevertheless made some changes to the chassis settings, and also prepared an electronic Brake AYC (Active Yaw Control) system for the model, which, with the help of standard brakes, allows you to control the thrust vector (even works on front-wheel drives).

The central tunnel of the crossover houses the washer for switching driving modes: Eco, Normal, Tarmac (sports), Gravel, Snow and Mud (only for AWD).

Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 also received adaptive cruise control MI-Pilot Assist with the function of keeping the car in the occupied lane, but in fact it is an analogue of the Nissan ProPilot system.

In the future, the SUV will acquire a hybrid modification of the PHEV, which will then, in turn, become available for the X-trail soplatform.

The exact configurations and prices for the 4th generation Mitsubishi Oulander have not yet been announced. It is only known that in the database the cost of a car in the United States starts from $ 25,795 (excluding delivery to the dealer).

When the car appears in Russia, the price tag will surely increase significantly in comparison with the current version (today they ask for it from 1,809,000 to 2,509,000 rubles), which for now will continue to be produced at the Kaluga plant.
