New sports car Nissan GT-R50 Italdesign 2021 for $ 1 million. Sales of the new Nissan sports car have begun.
Japanese automaker Nissan has unveiled its most extraordinary sports car, the GT-R50 Italdesign 2021 worth $ 1 million!

The model was created in collaboration with the Italian studio Italdesign and is timed to coincide with two anniversaries — the 50th anniversary of the Nissan Skyline GT-R and 50th anniversary of the founding of Italdesign.

The new 2021 GT-R50 Italdesign differs from the standard GT-R with its exterior body panels and optics.

Technical characteristics

Under the hood of the novelty is a 710-horsepower V6 biturbo petrol engine with a working volume of 3.8 liters. The regular GT-R has 570 horsepower. The sports car also received an upgraded gearbox, modified suspension and more efficient brakes.

NISSAN AND ITALDESIGN PRESENT A UNIQUE GT-R PROTOTYPE FOR 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MODEL

For the first time in history, the two companies have teamed up to create a unique prototype — the Nissan GT-R50.
Based on the 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO, the unique vehicle commemorates the 50th anniversary of both the GT-R and Italdesign. The European debut of the prototype will take place next month.

“It’s not often that two big events happen at the same time: 50 years since Italdesign shaped the automotive world, and 50 years since Nissan delights the public with its legendary GT-R. To celebrate an anniversary of automotive leadership, Nissan and Italdesign have created this unique GT-R, ”says Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president of global design.

Italdesign designed and built the vehicle, and its unique, fresh exterior and interior design was developed by the teams of Nissan Design Europe (in London) and Nissan Design America.

ALL THE BEST IN DESIGN

Starting at the front of the car, Italdesign has given the Nissan GT-R50 a distinctive character — a pronounced, gold, interior element that extends from the front of the body and runs along almost its entire length.

The bonnet is more pronounced, and narrow LED headlights extend from the wheel arches to the bumpers above the air intakes.

The main design element that catches the eye is the side roofline, which has been lowered by 54 mm. Its midsection is relatively low, and the slightly raised sides give the entire silhouette an athletic look.

The GT-R’s signature styling feature has always been samurai sword-like vents behind the front wheels. On the new supercar, they are more effective thanks to the elongation and the added gold accents.

When looking at the car from behind, wide-spaced wheels with tense, muscular wheel arches are striking. The centerline of the body lowers around the base of the rear window towards the center of the boot lid.

The rear window line goes down further and deeper than on the standard model. Combined with many gold elements, it looks like a separate, coherent part of the rear of the body.

The GT-R’s twin round lights have also been reimagined as a stand-alone floating piece with thin light rings and an empty center, positioned to connect the outer support members to the center section of the trunk.

The rear end is complemented by a large, adjustable rear spoiler mounted on two pillars.
Specially designed wheels — front 21×10 ″, rear 21×10.5 ″ — accentuate the daring look of the car. The body is finished in Liquid Kinetic Gray, which is enlivened by unique details in the Energetic Sigma Gold anniversary color.

The interior of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is inspired by modern supercars. The center console, control panel and door panels have two different types of CFRP trim.

The seats are upholstered in black Alcantara® and Italian high-quality leather.
Interior details echo with the golden accents of the exterior: on the control panel, doors and a futuristic gear knob (inspired by racing cars).

The center hub and spokes of the original steering wheel are made of carbon fiber, and its rim has a flat bottom and is wrapped in Alcantara.

PURE POWER

Underneath the new shape of the Italdesign Nissan GT-R50 is a highly dynamic vehicle. Drawing on GT3 racing experience, Nissan’s NISMO division refined the hand-assembled 3.8-liter V6 VR38DETT engine.

According to preliminary estimates, it will develop a maximum power of 720 hp. and a maximum torque of 780 Nm.

The following updates have appeared in the design of the power unit:

— two high-performance turbochargers with a large turbine diameter (characteristics of the GT3 level) and enlarged intercoolers;
— adapted to work under especially high loads, crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and bearings;

— efficient oil nozzles for lubricating parts of the piston group;
— modernized camshaft cam profile;
— high-performance fuel injectors;
— as well as optimized ignition, air intake and exhaust systems.

The vehicle is equipped with a reinforced 6-speed double-clutch gearbox and a unique all-wheel drive transmission (in which the gearbox is installed in the same block with the rear axle final drive).

Transmission with heavy-duty differentials and drive shafts efficiently transfers torque to the wheels.

For the prototype, an updated suspension with a system of continuous damping force control BILSTEIN DampTronic® I was developed. Effective braking is provided by front and rear Brembo brakes (front — with 6-piston, rear — with 4-piston calipers).

These calipers are painted bright red and are clearly visible through the rims. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (front 255/35 R21, rear 285/30 R21) improve traction to tame engine power.

“While this is not a next-generation GT-R, this car is a delightful two-year anniversary gift in a provocative and creative way. We took one of the best Nissan platforms and Japanese design and wrapped them in the Italian art of bodywork, ”said Albaiza.
