One of 282 collectible copies of the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec, rolled off the assembly line back in 1999, became a sensation at the famous Bring a Trailer auction.

The car in an exquisite, completely uncharacteristic color for this brand, «purple midnight» was put up for auction for $ 253,000.

So far, the rate is kept at the level of 18.3 million rubles, but by the end of trading it may well grow.

A model with a traditional Japanese right-hand drive and a modest mileage of 64 thousand kilometers is sold in the United States.

The striking «Japanese» under the hood has a 2.6-liter in-line six-cylinder engine of the RB series with twin turbocharging and a capacity of 280 horses.

However, experts claim that in fact the motor is much more powerful — 334 hp, and the declared parameters take place only on paper.
This has nothing to do with reality, and the actual engine output reaches 334 horsepower.

Luxury is reflected in every detail: the 18-inch wheels refurbished six months ago, the suspension with Ohlins coilovers and the golden Brembo calipers.

The sports car is located in the United States, but was originally built for Japan, so the steering wheel is on the right side.

This Skyline has one more feature besides the rare body color. According to the documents, this car is designed in America as a rarity with operating restrictions.

According to American law, a car registered in the United States with the status of a rare model and a Show or Display certificate can drive no more than 4 thousand kilometers on public roads per year.

But after three years, the car will become a full-fledged rarity and the mileage restrictions will be removed.

At the end of April, another Skyline from the rare V-Spec II Nür series was put up for auction at another auction site.

In total, there were 1003 cars in the circulation of the special series dedicated to the Nurburgring, but only 718 of them were released in the V-Spec II modification.

The car put up for auction was one of the last examples that were built in this special series, and besides, it was a real «time capsule», since its mileage was only 10 kilometers.
