Opel Mokka 2024.

Opel is planning to return the budget crossover Mokka to the Russian market. Approximate dates are announced.

Recently there was a premiere of the compact crossover Opel Crossland on the Russian market.

At the event dedicated to this event, journalists asked the brand representatives about the previously known Mokka model.

By the way, the second generation of the brand is already successfully sold on the European market.

Experts said that the budget model Mokka is familiar to motorists much more than the new Grossland, and may have great success with its appearance on the Russian market.

The representatives of Opel said that the presentation of the Grossland model in no way interferes with the potential return of the Mokka to Russia.

The managers of the brand admitted that the launch of the Mokka sales in Russia was considered even before the Grossland appearance, but for a number of technical and other reasons they failed to do it simultaneously with the start of sales in Europe.

Specialists said that in the second generation of Mokka there is no possibility of integrating electronic stuffing system «ERA-GLONASS» structurally.

Also important for Russia is a heated windshield, which is also absent in the updated Mokka.

However, it may seem strange, because there is a heating system of the first row seats and steering wheel.

For the Russian market, the second-generation Opel Mokka plans to add both windshield heating and second-row seat heating.

However, there is still a problem with installing the ERA-GLONASS module, since it is impossible to get a certificate of OTCS in Russia without it.

But installing the module in ready-made models can turn out to be much more expensive than integrating it into the assembly line.

Such changes in the design of a car need permission from the headquarters of the Opel concern.

According to representatives of the brand, the company is ready to grant permission for such works on condition that they sell not less than 3 thousands cars per year.

Due to small number of dealers in Russia such figures are still unattainable. We have only 13 Opel dealerships for the whole country.

Taking into account these factors, Opel will first expand its presence on the Russian market by increasing the appeal of the brand, and only after increasing the dealer network will it plan to return the Mokka.

According to the Russian representative office of the brand, the approximate terms of this event — the second half of 2023 — early 2024.

Just before that period, the Mokka is expecting a planned restyling.

Technical data, of course, is not available yet, but it is already known that Opel will not put any hybrid systems, only internal combustion engines are planned.
