Peugeot 2008 prepares for an upgrade: first image of the crossover.

The refreshed SUV of the French brand will be presented in the second half of 2023, and it will go on sale on the European market in early 2024.

The current second-generation Peugeot 2008 crossover, as well as its all-electric version, appeared in 2019.

According to Carsalesbase statistics, last year sales of the model in Europe increased by 22.6% to 191,424 units.

This year, the Parkett has recorded a minus: in the first three quarters, Europeans bought 108,119 units, which is 23.6% less than in January-September 2021.

According to Jato Dynamics, the model currently remains the best-selling in the B-SUV segment. Now the company is already working on an updated version of the Peugeot 2008.

While there is no official information about how the refreshed crossover of the French brand will look.

The designer of the Spanish edition motor.es has shared with us his version of the potential appearance of restyled Peugeot 2008.

It is supposed that the model will not change the exterior dramatically, most likely it will simply retouch its «face».

Judging by the rendering, the crossover will get LED headlights of another, more elegant shape (reminiscent of the headlights Peugeot 308), while it will retain «fangs», acting as daytime running lights, but they will look different.

Another update will be the new radiator grille with a changed shape and a design in the form of white vertical strokes, thickening to the sides. In the center is the new logo of the brand.

Also, the renders show a different air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper.

The front end is likely to get its share of updates in the form of other lights and modified rear bumper.

The profile will be decorated by wheel rims of the new original design. All of these elements together should make the car visually more aggressive and sporty.

In the course of the updates the developers are expected not to forget about the Peugeot 2008 interior.

Thus, the digital dashboard and the touchscreen of the infotainment system will get different graphics, and the multimedia screen will surely grow in size.

Also the system is likely to have more modern software. It is assumed that the crossover will receive different materials for interior trim and new color options.

The edition notes that the engine lineup during the update will become «more economical».

Current petrol engines will become a part of «soft-hybrid» power plants, that is they will work in tandem with 48-volt «electrodes».

As a result, the power output will remain the same, but fuel consumption and emissions should decrease. It is not excluded that diesel engines will leave the range.

A completely «green» version of the Peugeot e-2008 crossover will be offered with a 156 hp electric motor from the e-208 with a maximum torque of 260 Nm.

It will get a higher-capacity traction battery and its range will be about 400 kilometers without recharging (according to the WLTP cycle).

According to preliminary data, refreshed SUV will be introduced in the second half of 2023, and on sale in Europe in early 2024.
