The engineers and designers of the French company «Peugeot» are known all over the world as masters of creating stylish, bright and quite practical cars, intended mainly for moving around the city and the highway.

All this fully applies to the 2021 Peugeot 3008 crossover shown not so long ago.

The novelty cannot be called a restyling of any existing model: it is very original, although it carries tangible brand influences both in appearance and in the technical part.

At the same time, the new model perfectly combines adequate cost and comfort, which will certainly induce to consider it for the acquisition of not only fans of the brand, but also other motorists who want to stand out in the stream.

Exterior

The appearance of the novelty, judging by the first photo, can be considered its strong point.

The look of the Peugeot 3008 2021 is easily recognizable as the brand’s signature features, but it also reflects the most current trends in modern automotive fashion, first of all — a combination of smooth and ribbed relief, complex shaped lighting equipment and very bright air intake systems.

The most brutal was the front of the car. It is located at a medium height, but rather long and wide.

The windshield looks small against the huge, almost flat bonnet with a noticeable slope at the front. Under this «beak» flaunts slightly «slanted» LED head optics with wavy strokes of daytime running lights.

Between them is an ultra-modern radiator grille with a 3D-pattern, as if «flowing» over the edges of the bumper and headlights.

In the center of it there is a huge king of beasts in the corporate style.

The body kit of the new body seems to be very powerful, including due to its artificial narrowing in the central part by vertically arranged daytime running lights.

This element contains a license plate stamping, a hexagon with a large redundant air intake, two vertical drop-shaped recesses for air access to the front brakes, as well as a heavy protective plastic layer underneath.

The crossover’s side projection is characterized by a thoroughbred posture due to the streamlined roof shape, accentuated by silver roof rails and chrome-plated upper window liners.

The windows of the car are quite large, with the exception of the rear, with a stylish bend rushing upward.

They are separated by wide black / glossy uprights, forming a style cohesion with huge rounded mirrors fitted with turn signal repeater stripes in any configuration.

Below there is a predominantly smooth relief, resting against a powerful chrome trim over the sills, as well as a protective layer that runs along the entire lower part of the body.

Separately, it is worth noting the circular huge wheel arches, which fit large light-alloy wheels with a futuristic pattern.

The feed of the SUV will delight you with a number of bright, outstanding design solutions. The slim visor has solid side bolsters.

The glass that it covers is rather strongly tilted and is, as it were, in a black-plastic frame.

Below it, you can find vertical LED strips of side lights, a notch for the registration plate, pronounced against the background of the barely noticeable relief of the main part of the lid, as well as a powerful body kit replete with chrome elements.

Interior

The interior of the new 2021 Peugeot 3008 is visibly spaceship-like with an abundance of cutting-edge elements.

Moreover, all this is located at a convenient distance from the driver and looks more expensive than it actually costs.

However, the finishing materials in the car are really decent: high-quality fabric or leather, two types of plastic and even metal inserts.

Control and management bodies

The architecture of the front panel is as if transferred to the car from the future.

Behind the most convenient multifunction steering wheel, «clipped» from above and below, there is a virtual dashboard of interesting contours, and a little to the right of it is a huge touchscreen display of the multimedia complex.

The air ducts are placed at an angle to each other to create a better microclimate.

Below is the «piano» of the protruding climate control keys, and then — a recess for wireless charging of smartphones and connecting external storage media to the car.

The central tunnel, wide and imposing, is fenced off in front of the passenger by a silvered plastic «fence».

And this is justified, because there is a technical panel with an unusual, but very convenient gear selector.

But then there are huge cupholders available for the passenger with a cooling function, as well as a massive armrest, in the depths of which you can find an additional glove compartment with the function of cooling the contents.

Seats and luggage compartment

The car has five very comfortable seats covered with high-quality fabric or leather and medium-soft filling.

The front row boasts solid side support, heating and electric fine-tuning of the position. Other options are possible, but for an additional fee.

The back sofa will be quite spacious for three adult passengers, they will be able to slightly tilt the back or, in the absence of a third rider, use the armrest table.

The practicality of the new French crossover is confirmed by a solid trunk volume: according to a test drive, it is almost 520 liters in the stowed state and three times more with the second row of seats folded down.

Specifications

Of all the overall characteristics of the mid-size crossover under consideration, the most interesting is the ground clearance: here it is almost 22 centimeters, which is more than the lion’s share of competitors.

As for the power plants to be installed on the Peugeot 3008 2021, it will be a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine for 150 «horses» or a two-liter diesel supercharger with the same efficiency.

But the drive and gearbox are uncontested here: only on the front wheels and only a six-speed «automatic».

As it was established in running trials, the car can easily drive on the highway and in the city, consuming very little fuel, but off-road exits for the car are unsafe.

Options and prices

Four complete sets of the French crossover have been introduced to the market. The initial cost will be about 1.9 million rubles, and the price of the most expensive variation will already be 2.3 million units of the Russian currency.

Competing models

Among the closest rivals of the SUV are the Citroen C5 Aircross, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mazda CX-5, as well as Skoda Kodiak.
