The Porsche Macan Turbo 2020 is a powerful version of the legendary crossover.
The Porsche Macan family of crossovers will be joined this year by another Turbo prefix to become the most powerful modification in the lineup. Prior to that, Macan S held the palm. Porsche will present the new product at an exhibition in Frankfurt, after which it will go to the conveyor. Nevertheless, the details about the technical equipment of the Makan 2019-2020 model year are already known today.


As is customary for Porsche, the novelty will receive only one complete set of the power unit and box. The heart of the car will be a 2.9-liter V-six gasoline engine with twin turbocharging, so the turbo prefix is ​​more than appropriate here.

The peak power of this monster was 440 horses and 550 Nm. It’s worth noting that this is the same engine that powers the latest Panamera.

But unlike its brothers, this motor will work with a 7-speed robot and an all-wheel drive transmission. The drive in this case is more oriented towards the rear axle, and the movement of the front axle is provided by the clutch.

The speed characteristics are far from the standard crossovers. Acceleration to hundreds in 4.5 seconds, and with the sports package for 4.3, this is already an indicator of a good sports car.

The Macan Turbo will reach 200 km / h already at 16 seconds, and by the 21st it will show a maximum speed of 270 km (there is an electronic limiter). Consumption for daily use without a «slipper on the floor» in the region of 9.8 liters per hundred.

Special attention was paid here to the braking distance. It is 30% smaller than the Cayenne. The calipers are made from a blend of carbon and ceramic, and the brake discs are coated with tungsten carbide for a firm grip. The suspension is pneumatic and, as usual, electronic adjustment.
More details were not disclosed by Porsche, saving a little for the exhibition. Of course, such things as climate, cruise, cameras in a circle, parking assistant, ABS and so on are bundled by default.

The geometry of the body was left alone, so that the slope of the windshield, length, width and height remained in place. However, some details have been revised to improve aerodynamics and handling.

The first thing you notice is a new solid diffuser on the front bumper, apparently designed to eliminate turbulence under the bottom, so that the turbo version does not throw during acceleration. The revised front end gave the «charged» version more anger, just to match the characteristics. The rear wing was screwed to the fifth door, which also prevents the stern from wagging from side to side.

On closer inspection, you can also see a modified panoramic roof, a new pattern of rear dimensions, which, according to Porsche’s assurances, provides greater range, and more sporty twin exhaust tips. Optional rim sizes have expanded to 20 inches.

The most interesting update to the racing crossover was the additional retractable wing, which the system releases automatically when the arrow falls over 200 km / h. But, if you need to show off, the necessary button is provided on the steering wheel.

In general, I would like to note that Porsche never ceases to amaze with its clear commitment to the pristine exterior of each model and adequately fits modern requirements and technologies into it. If we look at the Macan Turbo, we will again see the prototype of the 911, in a laconic «parquet» design.

The dashboard, contrary to the general trend, remained analog, but next to it is a 10.9-inch display with thin bezels. Moving your gaze below you can see a nice sandwich of many buttons and air holes that smoothly flow into the rather raised gearbox console, which also smoothly merges into the armrest with the embroidered word «Turbo».

The steering wheel is replete with control buttons. In the middle, there is a brand reminder in the permanent logo. On top of the torpedo they left the same analog clock, compactly hidden under the visor. When the monitor is on, it looks rather strange, but you need to stand out with something.

The seats are rather massive and «enveloping». As usual they have heating, ventilation, massage and 16 electrically adjustable positions. The quality of the cladding is excellent. Three passengers will sit quietly behind. Although the head restraints are provided for only two. Plus a wide retractable armrest is provided for two. The interior color will depend on the exterior enamel. As usual, they will be limited to shades of white and black.

Price and start date

The price tag and release date became known in early summer. Before the beginning of October, Porsche plans to start shipping the assembled cars to dealerships.
Pre-order is already available for Russians. The Porsche Macan Turbo will cost 6.9 million rubles.
