Porsche Vision 357 2023.

Porsche Vision 357: a design concept for the 75th anniversary of the German brand is presented.

The first car of the Porsche brand (model 356) was registered in June 1948, which means that in 2023 the German brand celebrates the 75th anniversary of this momentous event.

For the anniversary, the automaker has prepared a new show car Porsche Vision 357.

As planned, we have before us a kind of modern interpretation of the mentioned sports car 356, which was produced for 17 years and during this time it sold about 78,000 cars.

The presented concept is built on the basis of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, that is, it has a mid-engine platform.

Note that the very first Porsche 356 roadster of 1948 was also mid-engined, although the model was launched into the series with a rear-engine layout.

One way or another, the presented show car has a completely original body, which, in its shapes and proportions, again resembles the “three hundred and fifty-sixth” of different years of production.

The most obvious references to the classic model are the humped back and the presence of a ventilation grill on the stern.

Other features of the Vision 357 include 20-inch magnesium wheels with carbon fiber hubcaps.

The wheel design is again meant to be reminiscent of the original Porshe 356 rollers that came with high profile tires.

The side windows of the sports car have built-in air intakes in the engine compartment.

But the car does not have mirror housings — cameras are used instead. The Germans did not show the interior of the car.

As for technology, the show car has a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with 500 hp. and 449 Nm (from a donor 718 Cayman GT4 RS) that powers the rear wheels.

Since January 25, 2023, the Porsche Vision 357 has been on public display as the centerpiece of the Volkswagen Drive brand show in Berlin.

In the future, they plan to use it in a number of other events, but the car will not be launched into the series.
