How much is the new Renault Arcana 2021 in Russia: according to the official dealer’s website, the price range for the model is from 1,211,000 to 1,636,000 rubles. The car in our market is sold in four trim levels: Life, Drive, Style and Prime.

The Renault Arkana powertrain lineup in the new body is represented by a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.3-liter turbo engine (both four-cylinder).

The motors can be combined with either a five- and six-speed mechanics, or with a continuously variable variator. The model is front-wheel drive by default, but the car can also be ordered with an all-wheel drive transmission.

The basic equipment of Life has four airbags, an anti-lock braking system, a stabilization system, electric and heated mirrors, a standard audio system, a simple air conditioner, a driver’s seat height adjustment and 17 ″ steel rims.

The intermediate Drive version is supplemented with light and rain sensors, rear parking sensors, leather steering wheel, heated front seats, keyless entry to the salon, engine start button, cruise control and an organizer under the boot floor.

Plus, there are four option packages available for the car. The Style package adds foglights, climate control, leather and fabric combined seat upholstery, a media system with a touchscreen display, a third rear headrest and USB ports in the cabin, heated steering wheel and windshield, a rearview camera, alloy wheels and an increased amount of chrome in finishing.

The top variant of the Prime sports six airbags, a blind spot monitoring system, leather interior, multimedia with all-round cameras, Bose music, as well as heated steering wheel, windshield and rear sofa.

Specifications

The new 2021 Renault Arcana body is built on the B0 + platform. The latter is a seriously modified version of the budget B0 «cart», in which about 55% of new components are involved. In particular, the crossover received other springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars, while the power steering was replaced with an electric one.

At the same time, the suspension architecture remains familiar: MacPherson struts are used in the front, and either a torsion beam (on front-wheel drive versions) or a multi-link structure (on all-wheel drive) can be installed at the rear. The French also increased the proportion of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel grades in the structure by 35%, while manufacturing the front power cross member from hot-formed steel.

As for the all-wheel drive transmission, it is implemented on the car using an electromagnetic clutch from the GKN company, which connects the rear axle only when the front wheels slip, while under normal conditions the crossover remains front-wheel drive. However, at speeds up to 80 km / h, the unit can be blocked by forcibly setting the thrust distribution between the axles in a 50:50 ratio.

Depending on the configuration, the volume of the trunk can be either 409 or 508 liters. At the same time, the rear seats of the crossover fold into the floor, allowing to increase the compartment capacity to 1 234 and 1 333 liters, respectively. All versions of the model have a 50-liter fuel tank, and the curb weight of the car again directly depends on the selected engine / equipment and varies in the range from 1,370 to 1,571 kg.

The base version of the Renault Arcana is powered by a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated H4M engine with 114 hp. (156 Nm). On front-wheel drive cars, this motor can work either with a five-speed manual transmission, or with an old Jatco JF015E variator. Versions with manual transmission are capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in 12.4 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 183 km / h.

Indicators with a variator are 15.2 seconds and 172 km / h, respectively. All-wheel drive modifications of an off-road vehicle with a 1.6 engine are equipped with a six-speed mechanics, while from 0-100 km / h such cars can accelerate in 13.3 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 180 km / h.

More powerful versions of Renault Arkana are equipped with a 1.3-liter H5Ht turbo engine with 150 forces (250 Nm) and a new Jatco JF016E CVT. Such cars in the base have an all-wheel drive transmission and are capable of accelerating from 0-100 km / h in 10.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 191 kilometers per hour.

With a top engine, Arkana briskly starts from a place from traffic lights, and also does not get lost when overtaking on suburban roads. However, in terms of the dynamics of the stars, the car is still not enough, but the controllability of the coupe-like crossover is complete order, and directional stability is worth noting separately. At a speed of under 100 km / h, the car tenaciously keeps a straight line and even strong lateral gusts of wind cannot confuse it.

The chassis of the crossover is not afraid of bumpy primers and is omnivorous, with appetite «swallowing» both small and large pits. Good cross-country ability of the model is also ensured by high ground clearance and short overhangs, although it is better not to drive off the car from the primer onto a full-fledged off-road.

The Russian Renault Arkana crossover has got a special version of the Pulse.

The latter is based on the Style trim level and is offered exclusively with a 1.3-liter turbo engine with 150 hp. and a variator. The drive can be selected — for a front-wheel drive in a special version they ask 1,648,000 rubles, and for the version with all-wheel drive — 1,728,000 rubles.

Outside, the Renault Arkana Pulse can be recognized by its black painted roof, mirror caps and 17-inch Montis wheels. Also here the rear windows are tinted from the factory, and stickers with the name of the performance are registered on the doors. In addition, the special version can be ordered in the exclusive Blue Iron color.

In the interior, the crossover meets with an exclusive combined upholstery of the seats with red stitching and the “Pulse” lettering on the backrests. Metal pads were registered on the pedals, special rugs on the floor, pads with the inscription “Arkana” on the thresholds, and decorative inserts for carbon on the front panel and doors.

The equipment of the new Renault Arcana Pulse includes safety curtains, as well as Bose music with eight speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer, which are offered for the Style performance at an additional cost.
