Seat Ateca 2021 after restyling — a new design of the body, interior and updated ICE.
It’s no secret that a good half of European brands are part of VW. In particular, this can be safely stated when it comes to the Spanish Seat and Czech Skoda. Unfortunately, intra-corporate borrowing has recently begun to be massive and today’s novelty is another confirmation of this.

The Seat Ateca crossover debuted 4 years ago, showed relatively good sales for the Italian unit (90,000 units), which earned it a planned restyling.
It can be noted that VW Tiguan for the same period sold a «circulation» of 265,000, but the Italians should make a discount, because this is the first SUV released under the Seat banner.

Technical stuffing

It really makes no sense to look at an Italian novelty, because in terms of technology, it really is a turned Karoq. Seat Ateka 2021 is built on the same platform, with the same engine range, transmission and even the silhouette of the body. There are some nuances of decoration, but no more. Therefore, speaking about the technology, you will have to remember what the Czech crossover could boast of.

Both models are built on a modular trolley MQB (head brand development). The suspension is a standard pair of MacPherson struts in front and a torsion beam at the rear. Power steering — electric, disc brakes in a circle, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, depending on configuration.

The engine range and transmission are pleasing in variety, ranging from «green» units to 190-strong options:
1 liter 110 hp turbo engine and 115 h.p. available in a pair of 5-speed manual transmission;

150-liter 1.5-liter inline turbo four is paired with a DSG robot (again developed by VW) and can optionally be supplemented with all-wheel drive;

The most powerful 2-liter petrol unit with in-line 4-cylinder architecture produces 190 hp. equipped with a robotic gearbox and four-wheel drive transmission already in the basic configuration;

Two 2-liter turbodiesels with 115 and 150 hp boost initially offered with a robot, and all-wheel drive is optional.

As you can see, the 1.6-liter diesel is no longer offered. Also, there is no information about the hybrid options, apparently they are not expected.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that in conjunction with all-wheel drive electronics will delight in six riding modes, instead of four (Eco, Normal, Offroad, Sport, Snow and Individual).

Avionics

The list of electronic assistants at Seat Ateca has grown a bit due to new developments of the parent concern. Now on board the Italian (and Czech, too) you can find:

Adaptive cruise;
Light and rain sensors;
Heated and electric side mirrors;
Rear window defogger;
Starting the engine with a button;
Steering column height adjustment + steering wheel heating;
6-position adjustment of the front seats + heating and ventilation;
6 airbags + curtains;
Front and rear parking sensors;
ABS, ESP, BAS, EBD, TCS, HAC, AFS and IPA systems.
As before, the Ateca will be offered in 4 trim levels.

Body, dimensions

The Italian will receive a new body, designed for the Czech version, so that it does not have anything in common with its predecessor. But, as already mentioned, the front part is completely redesigned.
The Italians preferred the triangular forms of LED optics, other “touches” of fog and grille. Also slightly corrected the architecture of the overhang.

The new light dimensions, the modified form of the bumper and exhaust tips similarly flash in the back. Plus, the original Seat nameplates with the same font as the Leon branded hatch are naturally installed.
In terms of dimensions in Atek, there are slight deviations from the donor model (we are talking about plus or minus 2-5 mm).

The sports and off-road versions of the cross are also presented, which put other bumpers, wheel arch fringes, roof rails and additional enamels. The diameter of the wheels for all options range from 17 to 19 inches.

Salon

But working on the cabin was not too lazy. The Italian received an independent torpedo architecture with a driver orientation, a different configuration of the center console and tunnel, as well as new armchairs and a sofa.

Moreover, the internal volume is similar to Czech.

From the new, now there is a virtual 10.25-inch tidy (in the top configuration), a new multimedia with a 9.2-inch screen and support for mobile interfaces and revised finishing materials — not only plastic is used, but also metal elements plus leather instead of fabric.

Competitors

Seat Ateca will continue to fight for the buyer with other representatives of its price category, which are really more independent.

The list includes Nissan Qashqai, Honda CR-V, Toyota C-HR, the same Skoda Karoq and Ford Kuga.

Price and Start Date

What is more interesting, the Italian will be produced at the same factory as Karok — in the Czech city of Kvasiny, which once again confirms the unification of the models. Regarding the start of sales, European dealers are waiting for the crossover by September 2020.

According to the price tag, Europeans will be able to purchase a novelty for 1.8 million rubles for the basic configuration. The cost of the top option has not yet been announced.
