SEAT has unveiled an updated 2022 Seat Ibiza hatchback.
The official presentation of the compact hatchback SEAT Ibiza took place — the car was shown online.
Among other things, the new version of the Spanish subcompact hatchback SEAT Ibiza will be available with no less than six engines ranging from 80 to 150 horsepower.
SEAT unveiled the fifth generation of its Ibiza hatchback just over four years ago, so it’s only natural for the subcompact model to be getting a mid-life update right now.
The pre-facelift version still looks quite edgy and fresh despite being on the market since early 2017, so SEAT hasn’t changed the car’s appearance too much.
Changes have been made to the front end — even the basic version of the model is equipped with LEDs for some headlight functions, with a choice of full LED headlights.
SEAT has increased the size of the infotainment system as the touchscreen is now 8.25 «as standard and can be upgraded to a 9.2» display.
The fully digital 10.25-inch driver display is still installed, and the new upholstery is also worth noting.
Quite unusual for a facelift, the 2021 Ibiza comes with material quality changes as the dashboard is now soft to improve the quality of the felt.
The engine range starts with a 1.0 TSI three-cylinder 95 hp engine. (175 Nm), in this case, the power will be transmitted to the wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
There will also be a more powerful 110-horsepower setup with 200 Nm of torque, and you can get it with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG.
The top engine is a larger four-cylinder 1.5 TSI with 150 hp. (250 Nm). Buyers will be able to choose an economical 1.0 TGI three-cylinder engine powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). It works with a six-speed manual transmission.
Production of the refreshed SEAT Ibiza will begin at the Martorell plant in Spain in the third quarter of 2021, so deliveries to consumers should begin either by the end of the year or early 2022.
