Skywell ET5 electric crossovers are now available from a Russian dealer in Chelyabinsk.

Little-known in Russia Chinese company Skywell, which produces electric buses, has announced the start of sales on the home market of the new electric crossover ET5.

Despite the fact that in terms of equipment and technical characteristics the car is comparable to the Volkswagen ID.4, this model costs about 1.5 million rubles less than the German one.

The new Skywell ET5 costs a minimum of 152,800 yuan (about 1.77 million rubles). The top version of the electric crossover will cost 198.8 thousand yuan (2.31 million rubles).

The Chinese novelty is characterized by original, but, like most recent electric cars, somewhat angular appearance. Skywell ET5 received LED headlights with T-shaped ribbons.

Between the front lights is an insert with a fine mesh, simulating a radiator grille. The big bumper is completed with wide side cutouts, in which enters a long air intake.

On its sides, the developers placed rectangular fog lights. Rear optics is presented in the form of a thick LED strip.

By default, the Chinese novelty is equipped with an 8-inch digital dashboard, which can be replaced for a 12.3-inch for a fee.

A 12.8-inch touchscreen is mounted on top of the center console. It is claimed that the touchscreen supports streaming TV broadcasts from the local operator Skyworth.

The Skywell ET5 also comes bundled with a slope warning and downhill assist system, automatic valet, dual-zone climate, and other equipment.

The transmission is controlled through a large puck located on the center tunnel.

The Chinese novelty is powered by a single electric motor with a maximum output of 204 hp and a torque of 320 N*m.

With this unit, the electric crossover picks up the first 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds. That is, with the same characteristics of the electric motor Skywell ET5 is about 1.3 seconds slower than Volkswagen ID.4.

At the same time, the Chinese model is equipped with a battery capacity of almost 72 kWh, which provides a range of 520 kilometers.

For this purpose, the company has signed an agreement with Star Charge, a supplier of chargers for Daimler, Volkswagen, Porsche, Jaguar and Land Rover cars in China.
