The updated compact van Suzuki Ertiga has been shown on the Internet.
A new model from Japanese concern Suzuki is entering the Indian car market to replace the second generation of the model.
These simple seven-seat cars with a body length of 4395 mm are produced in India and Indonesia for car markets in Africa and Southeast Asia.
The Ertiga received a planned update in 2022. Its results showed a joint venture Maruti Suzuki.
Representatives of the company almost completely preserved the exterior, having updated only the engine lineup.
In particular, the gasoline atmospheric engine 1.5 K15 was improved. Now it became K15C with two injectors of distributed injection per a cylinder, increased compression ratio and standard start-stop system.
The engine squeezes out 103 horsepower and 137 Nm instead of 104 hp and 138 Nm. The revised engine will be more economical than before.
The 5-speed manual transmission is saved in the starting kit, instead of the old four-speed automatic gearbox a six-speed automatic with paddle paddles is installed on the CKD.
There is no turbocharged diesel from 2020 because of tougher economy.
The Ertiga CNG with a dual-fuel unit remains in the engine lineup.
The same 1.5 petrol engine produces 100 hp and 136 Nm, and methane — 87 hp and 122 Nm. There is a manual gearbox.
After the update the model received a new grille and new wheels.
Under the rear window there is an additional plaque made of chrome. The cabin is decorated with a more modern infotainment system with an increased 7-inch display instead of 6.8, other graphics and interfaces in the applications Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Besides, the Suzuki Ertiga’s finishing materials were also revised. The updated compact cars are already available for order on the Indian car market.

The basic model still has a five-speed manual, but instead of the old four-speed automatic transmissions a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddles is installed on compact vans.
Turbo diesel was excluded from the range in 2020 because of the tightened economy, but the range still has Ertiga CNG with dual-fuel engine.

External signs of the modernization are quite modest: the Ertiga has a new grille and other wheels, and under the rear window appeared additional chrome trim.
The main update in the cabin — a more modern media system with larger screen (7 inches instead of 6.8), another graphics and interfaces Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The combinations of trim materials have also been revised.
The Suzuki Ertiga still has a simple chassis with semi-independent rear suspension and drum rear brakes.
There are only four airbags even in the top version, inflatable curtains never appeared.
The trunk volume behind the third row is only 209 liters, and the bi-fuel versions have even less, because a gas tank is installed there.
Modernized compact vans can be already ordered in India, where Suzuki Ertiga costs from 10900 dollars.
Soon, related models — Toyota Rumion and Suzuki XL6 crossover — will be updated as well.
