Independent designers have unveiled what the Porsche Boxster 2023 roadster might look like when it changes generations.

Recently the German manufacturer took the car out for road tests and spy photos immediately appeared on the Internet.

These pictures were used by the artists of the domestic website to create their high-quality renderings.

This week, the Boxster new generation was spotted for the first time by spy photographers during tests.

Thanks to this we have the opportunity to assess the features of the appearance of the future novelty.

Roadster Porsche Boxster was first presented in 1996, becoming a production version of the same name concept, the premiere of which took place in 1993 at the North American Auto Show.

Today, there is already a fourth generation of the open-top sports car, which is the most compact model in the company’s lineup.

It received an index 718 in honor of the racing car, which was produced from 1957 to 1962.

Now Porsche is developing the next generation of Boxster, and spy photos that have appeared recently allow us to consider some details of the exterior.

The car in general will keep its usual medium-engine proportions. At the same time the front end will be significantly changed due to narrower and angular headlights.

Their shape, as well as the body design as a whole, will be inspired by the Mission R concept, which was demonstrated in early autumn last year.

In the same style will be made and the rear optics, which is a narrow horizontal LED strip.

From a technical point of view there will be even more differences from the current roadster, since the new Boxter and related to it Cayman coupe will be completely electric.

The cars will be built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform developed together with Audi.

The batteries will be located behind the driver and passenger, which will make the seating position as low as possible and achieve the same weight distribution as in the current Boxster.

Most likely, we can expect an all-wheel drive version, while the current model is exclusively rear-wheel drive.

Parameters of power of future novelty are still unknown, the concept Mission R has a twin-engine power plant with a capacity of 1088 hp, according to the declared data, allowing to accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

Premiere of the novelty may take place next year.
