Toyota Camry Nightshade 2023.
Toyota has released a new all-wheel-drive Camry 2023 in the Nightshade modification with a powerful engine.
The Nightshade version is popular among the fans of the Camry sedan. Therefore, Toyota continues to develop this modification, systematically adding new options and changing the appearance of the car in this version.
Now the manufacturer has offered a sedan with redesigned exterior details and two powerful engines.
Thanks to this, the sales volume of the 2023 Toyota Camry in the new Nightshade Special Edition, according to the Japanese company forecasts, should grow to 7% of the total sales of this model.
The sedan in this version is available in three colors, with front- and all-wheel drive.
Visually the Camry in the new design differs from other modifications by black air intakes in the front bumper, complemented by a plastic insert that gives the car a more aggressive look.
The same color is applied to the exterior mirrors, all the optics and the rear spoiler.
New 19-inch wheels with matte bronze finish are ready for Camry customers.
Toyota said that such exterior details are designed for people who want to draw a little more attention to themselves.
Probably for this reason, the technical part of the sedan has not undergone any changes.
By default the Camry is equipped with the naturally aspirated engine of 2,5 liters which develops no more than 203 hp of capacity.
For extra charge it is possible to buy a hybrid with the same engine in the basis, which power output has been increased to 208 hp.
Also with Camry comes «atmospheric» 3,5-liter engine, producing up to 310 hp.
An eight-speed «automat» is offered with each of these motors.
Cost of sedan in the new version, as well as start date of sales has not yet been announced.
Toyota has updated the «dark» version of the Camry. The Nightshade version is available for cars with a 2.5 quad.
U.S. Toyota has unveiled a redesigned Camry Nightshade Edition.
The first sedan in this version debuted in 2018, and it’s now available for cars with the 2.5 quad, both standalone and as part of a hybrid setup.
What distinguishes the «dark» four-door is the Camry TRD grille, tinted headlights, and matte bronze 19-inch wheels.
The Toyota Camry has been America’s most popular midsize sedan for 20 years, so it was one of the first to have a «dark» Nightshade version.
Introduced in 2018, the four-door flaunted black décor on the body instead of chrome, black wheels and side mirror housings.
The Camry of the next 2023 model year will also have this design, and the styling package is available exclusively for cars with a four.
Sedan Camry Nightshade can be painted in three colors to choose from: Midnight Black, White and the new tint of blue Reservoir Blue (it is included in the main palette of the model and is not the prerogative only «dark» four-doors).
Such cars get Sport Mesh grille from Camry TRD, a rear spoiler, side mirrors, black decals and tinted headlights for the first time. The wheels are 19-inch alloys in matte bronze.
Everything else is standard for SE versions. These are LED headlights, two-zoned climate control, trimming of seats with leather leather SofTex, multimedia with 7-inch display, ten airbags and a set of electronic assistants Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+.
The latter include automatic high beam, auto braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping.
The Camry Nightshade engine range includes an atmospheric 2.5 of the Dynamic Force family paired with an eight-band automatic.
The engine produces 205 horsepower and 252 Nm of torque. Drive can be front or all-wheel drive.
In addition, a hybrid system THS II is available, developing 211 horsepower. It is based on the same 2.5 motor, but instead of automatic there is a variator. The top-of-the-line V6 3.5 unit is not compatible with the «dark» décor.
According to Toyota itself, in 2020, the Camry in the Nightshade Edition accounted for five percent of sales. In 2021 — seven. By the way, 313,795 sedans were sold in the United States.
