This week, photographs of a new German station wagon with virtually no camouflage were published on the Internet, thanks to which we have the opportunity to evaluate all the main features of its appearance.

This year, Audi announced upcoming changes to its model naming system. According to them, new electric models will have even numbers, and cars with internal combustion engines will have odd numbers.

Accordingly, the direct successor to the current A4 will be named A5, and the vacated name will be given to an all-electric car.

There is no information yet about the appearance of the latter, while the “traditional” station wagon has already been repeatedly spotted by spy photographers during testing.

In the most recent photographs, test samples are practically devoid of the usual camouflage and allow most of the details to be seen.

In general, the car will retain its usual proportions, while the design will become more rounded, like the e-tron GT electric sedan.

At the front, attention is drawn to a more compact radiator grille, which does not fit into modern automotive trends at all.

The headlights have a fairly simple shape, and the graphics of the LED running lights in their upper part echo the restyled A4 of the current generation.

In the side view, the most interesting elements are the door handles, uncharacteristic of other Audi models, made in the form of recesses, as well as smooth protrusions above the rear wheel arches.

The only mystery so far remains only the graphics of the LEDs in the lights, although it is already clear that they are made of a single element across the entire width of the stern.

The new Audi A5 will retain the MLB Evo platform, while hybrid power units will appear in the range.

In addition to the station wagon, the model will also be presented in a 5-door liftback body with the brand’s traditional Sportback prefix, but there may not be a new sedan (there has been no information about this body type in the new generation yet).

The premiere of the new product is expected in the coming months.
