Audi Q4 e-tron 2024.
The Audi Q4 e-tron has undergone a technical update and increased in price.
The electric crossover Audi Q4 e-tron, which debuted in the spring of 2021, is the closest relative of the “electric trains” of the ID family of the Volkswagen brand, all of them are built on the modular MEB platform.
The Q4’s popularity is growing — in the first half of this year, sales increased by 51.2% compared to the same period in 2022, and this is the highest figure among electric Audis.
And now a modernized family has been introduced, which includes the standard Q4 and the coupe-shaped Q4 Sportback.
The update is purely technical in nature, so it cannot be called a full-fledged restyling.
No changes are planned in the appearance or interior design.
But the Audi Q4 e-tron crossovers received new units, already known from the latest ID models.
For example, a new generation synchronous electric motor with the index APP550 is now installed on the rear axle.
Among the features is a rotor with more powerful permanent magnets, and the stator has an increased number of turns and winding cross-section. Power increased from 204 to 286 hp.
This resulted in a change in indexes for some modifications of the crossover. The base version of the Q4 40 e-tron with rear-wheel drive has given way to the Q4 45 e-tron (286 hp).
The middle modification in the hierarchy, the Q4 45 e-tron quattro with dual-motor all-wheel drive, retained the index, but became more powerful: 286 hp. instead of 265 hp
And the “fiftieth” all-wheel drive top version became the “fifty-fifth”: the total output of the two engines increased from 299 to 340 hp.
European media suggest that the two all-wheel drive modifications have the same electric motors, and the difference is only in the firmware.
The capacity of the traction battery has not changed (77 kWh), but now twin-engine Q4s can be charged at stations with a power of up to 175 kW, and for rear-wheel drive versions the limit is set at 135 kW, whereas previously all options had a maximum of 125 kW .
The battery cooling system and its management system have been improved.
All this allowed us to reduce the charging time by an average of several minutes.
Also, as part of the modernization, all suspension options were reconfigured (standard, sport and adaptive are offered for the Q4), which made it possible to improve responses to steering inputs.
Adaptive cruise control has been taught to independently change lanes.
Finally, the configurable Audi virtual cockpit and navigator are now included as standard: previously, the 10.25-inch virtual cockpit had a fixed graphic display by default.
In Germany, orders for the updated Audi Q4 e-tron crossovers will begin to be accepted on September 26. The starting price will increase from 51,900 euros to 52,950 euros.
