OPEL INSIGNIA 2017 — SECOND OPEL Insignia

The official world premiere of the new items German Opel AG 2017 new second-generation hatchback Opel Insignia Grand Sport is scheduled within the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2017, but already now we can meet and assess the German novelty. Sales of the new generation Opel Insignia in Europe will start in April next year at a price of 25,500 euros.
In the UK, the new product will debut under the name Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport, and in the markets of North America and Australia under the guise of twins Buick Regal and Holden Commodore, respectively.
The most important features of the new generation Opel Insignia are modern and dynamic design matrix LED headlights IntelliLux, the large size of the body and interior (vysokokomfortnye anatomical seats with massage function) compared to its predecessor, with lower curb weight of the body, the presence of the latest E2XX platform and intelligent self-learning adaptive FlexRide chassis, the advanced all-wheel drive system with two multi-disc clutches and elektroaktuatorami on a half-new diesel and petrol turbo engines, and, of course, a huge list of modern equipment, ranging from advanced IntelliLink (Apple carPlay and Android Auto) multimedia system, ending with electronic helpers and assistants.
Creating new Opel Insignia Grand Sport designers were inspired by the way the concept Opel Monza, shown in 2013 under the Frankfurt Motor Show. The only pity is that the new Opel Insignia does not look as bright as the Monza Concept. At the same time production car boasts quite attractively designed body exterior and a low drag coefficient of aerodynamic drag — just 0.26 Cx.
Also pay attention to the matrix headlights IntelliLux LED (32 LED element in each headlamp) capable of lighting a distant light at a distance of 400 meters, front bumper with bright aerodynamic elements, foglights with highlighting rotation function, excellent reliefs sides of the body, huge wheel arches that can easily take the 20-inch wheels, roof dome, a neat aft with beautiful LED position lights and compact luggage cover, supplemented with a spoiler.
External dimensions of the body Opel Insignia Grand Sport 2017-2018, amount to 4897 mm long, 1863 mm wide, 1469 mm high, with a 2829 mm wheelbase.
In comparison with a precursor of a new generation hatchback body increased in length by 55 mm in width and 7 mm, the height has decreased to 29 mm and wheelbase dimensions imposing increased by 92 mm.
The external dimensions of the new Opel Insignia became more, but the curb weight of the body decreased in comparison with the first generation models by as much as 175 kg, while the only body allowed to lose the extra 60 kg.

The new Opel Insignia Grand Sport will receive 8-10 airbags as standard and optional equipment, projection screen, a circular panoramic view of the system, Adaptive Cruise Control with Auto Brake, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert system that allows safe go backwards with parking in restricted visibility on the sides, heated rear seats and a windshield.
