Experts still agree that the Pathfinder will technically change minimally, retaining the current architecture, and engines, and a variator with an all-wheel drive system.

Body

The main expected exterior change for the new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is the signature V-motion grille, which should be noticeably larger, as the Japanese did on the latest Altima.

The front optics should «move» higher, and the headlights themselves are likely to receive a two-story filling due to the use of a plastic horizontal divider.

The body itself promises to be more streamlined, although photographs of the camouflaged SUV clearly show the overlays straightening it.

At the rear, the taillights will become wider and thinner, but the rear glazing can give a real surprise, since its shape and size, unlike the side windows, are carefully hidden.

Salon

It will be possible to look inside the updated Japanese crossover only after the release of the official teasers, so it remains to assume that the interior will have better finishing materials, and the ergonomics of the cabin will be seriously revised in order to increase the interior space.

The Pathfinder remains a seven-seat crossover, and this imposes certain obligations on designers, including creating equally comfortable passenger seats.

Hence, in addition to the long-announced new digital virtual «dashboard» and a large central touchscreen on the front console, we should expect the appearance of a 3-zone «climate» and several additional USB ports in the cabin.

Technical stuffing

The base engine for the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder should remain a V-shaped gasoline engine with 6 cylinders and a 24-valve DOHC timing belt. This 3.5-liter powerplant in the fourth generation car produced 263 hp. from. (in Russian specifications — 249 hp) power and 324 Nm of torque. A hybrid is sure to be another affordable option.

Its characteristics should exceed those offered by the previous hybrid engine — a 234-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo engine, working in conjunction with a 15-kilowatt electric motor (+20 hp).

The new 2021 Nissan Pathfinder is set to debut in 2020, following the lifting of restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

There is a possibility that the model will return to Russia after 3 years and begin to be officially sold in dealerships, since such a return is already planned by the Japanese, at least with the Sentra model.
